5.0 out of 5 stars introduction to Hollands greatest writer, August 25, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Parents Worry (Hardcover)
At 21, a friend gave me this book and told me i absolutely HAD to read it. Until then, I had never read anything by Reve, thinking it would be too depressing. I was wrong. Parents worry proved to be a hilariously funny book about a sad poet and his obsessive thoughts. covering about 36 hours in the life of a writer, Reve gives a wonderfull account of how depression, fantasy and obsession actually manifest themselves in the life and thoughts of the main character. This book is a MUST READ, and quite disturbing when one realises his own thinking-proces might very well work the same way, different obsessions and all.
