5.0 out of 5 stars Great light weight sled
This is the lightest, most compact, and affordable sled that I could find on the web. This sled is perfect for carrying along for mountain hiking where you want to keep your baggage as light as possible. I took it for hiking in Colorado Rockies, and it worked perfectly fine at 14000 ft. This sled can be rolled up and easily attached to the side of the backpacks and it...

3.0 out of 5 stars You can't expect more
This is the cheapest sled I was able to find. It works well, but the only problem I found was that it is not long enough. Perhaps I bought the one for children.
Due to the size problem, I wasn't able to sled until the end of the slope.
What can you ask for an 8 dollars sled ?
After that I bought an inner tube (5 dollars), and I have the sled as a plan B...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great light weight sled, May 31, 2010

This is the lightest, most compact, and affordable sled that I could find on the web. This sled is perfect for carrying along for mountain hiking where you want to keep your baggage as light as possible. I took it for hiking in Colorado Rockies, and it worked perfectly fine at 14000 ft. This sled can be rolled up and easily attached to the side of the backpacks and it does not add much weight. The length of the sled is just enough to accommodate myself and my backpack when I kept my legs out, which I needed to do anyway to control the speed. This sled is very fast, made the descent fun and quick. I recommend this to any mountain hikers who expect snow or glaciers on their descending routes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Super Fast!, February 8, 2010

Great sled! I had one like this as a kid...I was also a lot smaller back then. This is a fast, simple sled, but for you grown-ups out there, you'll have to hang your legs off the sides or risk snow in your boots.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Sled!!, September 27, 2011
This review is from: Flying Carpet Sled (Misc.)
I remember having a sled similar to this when I was a kid. It was always my favorite since it's much easier to transport than other sleds and isn't so much of a pain to drag up the hill again when you're tired. It's essentially just a sheet of plastic with handle holes cut in it. Ridiculously simple but absolutely awesome. I never see them in stores anymore so I've had to turn online to get them before and will do so the next time I need a sled too.

After that I bought an inner tube (5 dollars), and I have the sled as a plan B just in case the tube gets flat.

5.0 out of 5 stars great sled for the price!, January 30, 2012
This review is from: Flying Carpet Sled (Misc.)
Love this little roll-up sled! Great for backpacking and camping, since it fits into small spaces and is very light. Slides better than others we've tested, tho it's not as long as one might wish. We got a second one because we were happy with it!

This sled is great for kids. For adults though, you better use your hands to steer. Goes down a hill really fast. A lot of fun!!

1.0 out of 5 stars What a waste of money., January 12, 2010

Ugh. Bought three of these for three kids for Xmas day - what a waste of money! They are hard thin pieces of cheap plastic and the curl on them makes them unusable because they don't uncurl - I guess I thought they would unroll and be more toboggan-ish? And nothing to hold onto... I guess you are supposed to sit and put your feet into the holes, but unless you are on a sheer precipice and don't need one iota of forward momentum to get you going, these are junk.

I was hoping for something a little more substantial. I don't consider this item to be worth the money.
Spend a few more dollars and get something worthwhile!

This is not a 24 pack like the picture and description show--just one sled. Customer service had no explanation for the discrepancy so they advised a return. Sad, cause I was excited to give these as a gift for my students.
