4.0 out of 5 stars Big Subversive Fun, February 13, 2008
This review is from: Paris Berlin (Audio CD)
This was my first Stereo Total album, and it spurred me to get most of their others. Luckily, it was my first because it is arguably their best and most cohesive set, yet. To enjoy, bring a flexible sense of adult fun and leave piety at the door. Voix au Telephone is pure delicious French Pop. Stricherjunge is a lighthearted romp featuring the musings of a male prostitute. Komplex mit dem Sex is a casiotone peon to sexual confusion. Patty Hearst is a nostalgic giddy love song as imagined by a lost member of the leftist Baader-Meinhof gang set to an era-appropriate soundtrack. Lolita Fantome is another retro-pop gem (think AIR's Sexy Boy). Or, maybe the punk fun of Plus Minus Null and Plastik are more your cup of tea. And after all of that, why not top if off with a Serge Gainsbourg diddy? Sound like madcap ironic fun to you? Then, enjoy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Punk Rock Electronica!!!, April 24, 2008
This review is from: Paris Berlin (Audio CD)
If you are looking for an album that will literally `knock your socks off' with an intelligently-crafted blend of punk rock and electronica, look no further as Kill Rock Stars present Stereo Total's newest release titled, Paris <-> Berlin!

Featuring vocals in English, French and German, Stereo Total present a sound that is revolutionary, sexual and political, all without losing a beat and keeping their ears to the street! This duo presents lyrics (included in the booklet) that uphold their beliefs such as "Masturbation is Counterrevolutionary," and "Put your Marxism where your mouth is," we are invited not only to lose our minds, but also gain `piece of mind' on this 2007 release!

While you're jumping up & down, out of control, don't forget to pay extra attention to the explosive subtleties of "Plastic," or to get down to the danceable rhythms of "Mehr Licht" and especially realize that punk's not dead--it's just evolving on (our favorite track) "Moderne Musik."
