Editorial Reviews

Infernal have had massive chart success in France, the UK, Europe, and the US Clubs with their debut single "From Paris To Berlin". To celebrate their first trip Down Under, Infernal have put together a special 2CD Australian Tour Edition of their album From Paris To Berlin that features heaps of brand new tracks including the new single "A To The B", music videos, and awesome UK-only remixes of "From Paris To Berlin". --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

4.0 out of 5 stars Equally as good but different than the original release from this retro 80s synthdance band--different track listing!, August 23, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: From Paris to Berlin (Audio CD)
As a HUGE fan of this 80s synthpop influenced trio, It was well worth it for me to pick up this rerelease of From Paris To Berlin. Instead of releasing an all new album of new material, the band re-released this album to include two songs that became singles in the past year--the cover of Laura Branigan's "Self Control," and the single "I Won't Be Crying", which heavily samples the Depeche Mode hit "Strange Love." So I already had those CD singles, but the band also added two MORE new tracks for the enjoyment of fans--Hey Hello is more of their modern synthpop goodness that fits right in with the track listing and is reason enough to own this version if you already have the first, while This Little Secret is a slow jam. It's a good way to end the disc, but they are at their best when they're doing dance music. Also different from the original pressing of this album, this CD has replaced the boring "Late Night Mix" of Keen on Disco with the original mix.

The MAJOR disappointment with this version of the CD if you don't have the original would be the EXCLUSION of four tracks, including one of the band's best tracks EVER--their gorgeous electr/trance/synthpop dance cover of Ultravox's Vienna. WHO made the awful decision to leave that track off this version??? Also missing are the tracks "Cheap Trick Kinda Girl"--an upbeat, cheesy hi-nrg dance track, Loved Like a Maniac, a classic Infernal dance number, plus the downtempo, short closer of the original album called Good Morning March.

If you have just discovered Infernal and love them, you simply MUST get the original version of this CD to have Vienna, Loved Like a Maniac and Cheap Trick Kinda Girl. Also note that the original version of this CD included a SECOND disc loaded with more tracks, including the club mixes of From Paris To Berlin, remixes of Keen on Disco, a couple of earlier tracks by the band, and some live tracks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pricey, June 6, 2009
This review is from: From Paris to Berlin (Audio CD)
I love this group, I can really get into their music. I've heard this cd and thought it awesome. What I don't like is $30+ for a cd. When the price comes down I'll get it.

Inflated pricing is one of the many reasons so much music is pirated, I'm sure.
