5.0 out of 5 stars can not praise enough...
folks, this is the best idea for a tourbook/map that i have stumbled across yet. i'm not prone to raving, but this will garner praise from me until the cows come home (bearing foot & mouth) no doubt.

2.0 out of 5 stars If you bring only one book, bring this book!
These guides are incredibly helpful and became my soul companion. They include most of what other travel guides offer, yet they little pull out maps are comprehensive and small enough to be subtle when viewing, helping avoid the helpless tourist profile. When I travel these books are the first I search for in my awaited destination.

folks, this is the best idea for a tourbook/map that i have stumbled across yet. i'm not prone to raving, but this will garner praise from me until the cows come home (bearing foot & mouth) no doubt.

so, why is this so great? first of all, it's simple and well designed. the city is broken down into sections. you turn to those pages and there is a brief description of places to eat, shop, etc. the pages then open up into a map of the section with a description of major sites in the area.

brilliant! no fumbling around a big map trying to find your street. no squinting to figure out where you are. it's easy to find landmarks, metro stops, etc.

the card stock is nice and heavy and has lasted well even in my back pocket. the descriptions have been helpful without being too lengthy. and at this price, it's quite competitive with other maps while providing much more.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love these guides, February 23, 2006
This review is from: Paris (Citymap Guide) (Paperback)
I travel quite a bit and when I travel I try hard not to seem like a "tourist" no big bags, camcorder.. huge guide book and map. I love these guides because they're small and handy. I can pop them in my purse and when I need to pull it out, I don't look lost at all! I love how the guide is laid out by neighborhoods and they have recommendation for restaurants and shops etc.. I have a mapguide for Paris, London, Rome, Barcelona, Madrid and all have been so helpful. I recommend these guides for your next adventure.

Just got back from 7 days in Paris and will never travel without one of these guides again. It was the handiest and most convenient guide. Never got lost!!! We went to several of the recommended resturants and enjoyed them.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent and very handy, June 21, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Paris (Citymap Guide) (Paperback)
My wife and I used this guide for our 10 day visit to Paris. We had other guides with us, but this one was by far the most convenient and useful. You WILL want another more in-depth guide as well (this one just hits the high points), but for the maps and tips on the most important sites, this is the one to carry around (it DOES actually fit in the back pocket of my jeans).

5.0 out of 5 stars these books ROCK!, March 19, 2003

wherever you go, whatever you do, get a knopf mapbook! they're the best - exceedingly accurate and informative, small enough to be ideally portable, and always offering extra stops along the way you might not have thought about - a travelers best friend, and, for $9ish, you really can't afford NOT to get one - they're wholly worthwhile.
