This book is something like a ode to soft and gentle, about 190 pages with 80 beautiful Paris shots by photographer Jonas Yip, mixed with the poetry of Wai-Lim Yip.
The images are delicate and lovely, the sepia tone just right. I don't read Chinese so Im kind of lost on about half of the poetry, but the English version of the poetry is great. To me this is a beautiful book, I'm pouring myself a glass of port and putting on some classical music for this one. I gave the book "only" 4 stars because I would love to see Jonas Yip's images much bigger, and maybe with a finer screen, the images are so delicate that the screen in a few cases interfere ever so slightly, but then I am really picky when it comes to art printing. Highly Recommended - This is a book I will keep.! |
