This small, perfectly lovely book is an excellent gift for anyone who is planning a trip to Paris as well as for those who have visited this beautiful city. I purchased this book for myself while in Paris at the Musee D Orsay. I wished so that I had purchased an additional copy for a friend. I was more than surprized to find this little gem of a book available through Amazon.com. On every other page is a lovely B&W photograph of an important historical sight; opposite, of that photo, is a very concise history of the monument, museum or cafe. This, unlike similar coffee table books, is simple, unpretentious and perfectly lovely. This is a true find for those with understated tastes. |
