Anyone who has ever visited or lived in one of these two magical cities will be riveted by the beautiful graphic designs in this book as well as amused by the side by side comparisons, often wonderfully ironic. Vahram Muratyan has distilled the essence of both cities with love and a critical eye for each of them. The book is a terrific conversation piece and a great gift for anyone who loves to travel, either physically or just in the mind.

Witty and fun comparisons that aren't a bit 'odious' unless you'd rather live in the opposite city..like Paris and who wouldn't? Visually and graphically arresting. Each city's icons do a face-off. I'll take Amelie over Carrie anyday. Or would I?

My son mAdBen, an Account Exec at Ogilvy, met the talented Parisian graphic artist, Vahram Muratyan at a New York event. Sweet son that he is, he had him sign this book as a birthday gift for his lucky Maman. As soon as I opened the first page, I started to laugh with a joy of immediate knowledge and fun. As a writer who loves to synthesize thoughts into the fewest possible words, this brilliant creation sang to me. Clever, joyous gift of a livre. Pick it up when you need a lift.

This is a cute book that I would categorize as a "bathroom book" considering the substance of the actual reading - there is very little. It's exactly as picture - pairs of pictures comparing New York City and Paris, though with a definitely bent toward Paris. I am pleased with the purchase.

I've lived in New York City for many years, and have been privileged to do business and tour Paris many times -- perhaps 500 miles of walking through her storied streets. Most recently, a new and very dear friend spent six days over last Christmas sampling her treasures once again.

This book is a beautiful reminder of the beauties of both cities, charming on the coffee table or in the bathroom.

It is often updated on the website of the authors, Google the name of the book to find the treasures there.

"Paris vs New York, a tally of two cities.
Un match visuel amical entre ces deux villes, c'est le regard d'un amoureux de Paris sur un New York rempli de détails, de clichés et de contradictions : suivez le guide.
A friendly visual match between two cities told by a lover of Paris wandering through NewYork. Details, clichés, contradictions : This way, please."

If those words from the website make your heart beat a little bit faster, you will love this book.

It was just pages of cartoon type comparisons of the two cities. Bought it for my daughter and she liked it so not harm done.

We have this book at my salon because it's located in New York, and my boss is from Paris. On a particularly slow day, I cracked this baby open and read it cover-to-cover (which was easy, because it's literally all illustrations).

Never once does the author try to say one city is better than the other, it's simply a comparison. He also has these illustrations on his blog.
