This review is from: The Parish of Inchicronan (Crusheen) (Hardcover)
This book traces the history of Inchicronan (Crusheen & Ballinruan) Parish in Co. Clare from earliest times to the present century. It includes a history of the Butler Family of Ballyline, Walterstown, Bunahow and Doon; the Fitzgeralds of Lahardan as well as articles on the monastic settlements of Inchicronan Kiltoola and the legend of "The Island Lights." Included as an appendix is an extract from the memoirs of Sean O'Keeffe late of Crusheen and Ard na Greine, Ennis formerly Brigade Quartermaster, Mid Clare Brigade, Old I.R.A.which details the role of the Brigade in helping Liam Mellows escape to the USA following the 1916 Rising. The book contains invaluable material for anybody from the parish interested in researching their family tree.
