Part I: The person who negatively reviewed the "build quality" of this product and claimed something made of a 100% stainless steel started rusting almost immediately is most likely a competitor. There's no way this would rust, and the build quality is great. They reviewed two products by this company negatively, and then their only other review is cherries. So, ignore that review.
Part II: The reason you want an all metal shaker is because it is more conducive of friction (to create heat and melt the ice) than using a boston where the ice is going back and forth from metal to glass. So, I've been waiting to get this in, because I'm a bartender in a big city, and I've wanted an all metal shaker for sometime (2-piece, that is), and I am very pleased with it. My hands are not small, but they're not gigantic, and I've always thought shaking a boston with a pint glass in one hand is a bit precarious, and this thing feels great when shaking with one hand.
So, the rest of my review is pretty insignificant unless you're working at a bar and your aim is speed. If you're a home enthusiast, then the rest of my comments will probably sound knit-picky:
The top slips inside the outer lip of the bottom half easily and creates a tight seal, and can be removed with ease (as opposed to the need to smack a pint glass on a boston to get it off). The other thing I was curious about prior to ordering it was whether the thing could stand upright with the top half placed on the bottom while I'm making a drink. The answer to this is-- yes, it's pretty sturdy standing upright with the top half placed on the bottom.Read more ›
We bought this in hopes of finding a shaker that would easily open after being shaken with ice. This does the trick.
It also has a nice stainless steel finish.

I use London and Boston shakers too but I love this for certain cocktails, especially at home.Published 9 months ago by Aaron S. Rush

I am not a competitor...I bought this for my husband as a Christmas gift. We haven't even used it yet and it already has rust on the bottom. I hope they will take it back. Read morePublished on December 30, 2013 by Sarah Spengeman
