Book Description

*STEPHEN KING on Christopher Smith: "Put me down as an enthusiastic Christopher Smith fan. Smith is a cultural genius."

Sometimes, even after death, revenge carries on. Targets remain targets. People will die.

From the grave, one man’s will delivers the directive. Kill George Redman. Kill Leana Redman. Kill every Redman. Finish the job, crush them all, do it swiftly, rob them of their hopes, steal away their dreams.

In Park Avenue, the sixth book in the hugely popular Fifth Avenue series (Fifth Avenue, Running of the Bulls, From Manhattan with Love, From Manhattan with Revenge, A Rush to Violence), the heat boils over as characters from each book collide in a single collective nightmare.

For the Redmans, the problem is that this one man, long since deceased, is not alone in his quest to see them dead. Others are conspiring against the Redmans, which leads to a punishing series of events as they fight for their lives.

Park Avenue, which skewers New York society to its core, is the most complicated and satisfying book yet by #1 international best-selling novelists, Christopher Smith and Christina Ross.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Smash Hit for Christopher Smith May 31, 2013

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I discovered Christopher last year while looking for some good action and adventure books. Thanks to his generosity of offering many of his titles at discount prices at times I became fully engrossed in his books and as of last night, I have read all of them. Park Avenue continues the Fifth Avenue series with an intriguing cast of characters that just keep getting better as the series continues. I won't spoil the ending of this one other than to say that I was both surprised and pleased with how this one turns out. While I would suggest that one should start at the first of the series to get the full impact of what is going on, Chris also has a talent for going back to previous adventures of the characters and provides embedded links to help you keep track of what happened before and how it might impact what is going on now.

I have said before that Chris has the talent of many of the long regarded big names in the business and I think it is just a matter of time where you will be seeing his name consistently listed with the best of the best.

Get the 5th Avenue boxed set to start and hang on for some long stretches of not being able to pull yourself away.

To help you out, here is a link to get you started. The Fifth Avenue Series Boxed Set (The Fifth Avenue Series) Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Christopher Smith's books June 20, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I discovered Christopher Smith first through the "Bullied" series which is excellent! Then I started reading this series of books, and I love them! I love that he leaves room for another sequel and you wanting more! If you're into murder mysteries, Smith is a great find!

5.0 out of 5 stars He outdid himself! Again! May 29, 2013

Just when I didn't think Christopher's work could possibly get any better, it does. I'm a fan of all of his books, especially the 5th Avenue series. Park Avenue pulled me in from the beginning, as his books always do. He was able to bring back to life the past events from Fifth Avenue, which would be a challenge in itself. In addition to that, he introduced new characters. Some characters are new, some from other books in the series. He held true to the characters from the other books while painting a vivid picture of the new characters, a true give Christopher seems to do with ease.

I was not disappointed by this book one bit. As per usual, I felt immersed in the story and was not able to guess any of the (many) heart-pounding twists and turns. My favorite book of all-time is Fifth Avenue. I think this may have topped that. Well done Christopher!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Explosive culmination of a series May 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This review was written for an Advance Reviewer Copy of Park Avenue.
I have read all of Smith's books. From the Bullied series about a coming of age warlock to this current Fifth Avenue series. What I always enjoy about these series is how effortlessly Smith weaves his characters throughout the books. This is truly evident in Park Avenue.
Park Avenue follows the events in From Manhattan with Revenge. Our two favorite/hated assassins are back to finish the job. Accompanying them are many of the main characters in the Fifth Avenue series which turns Park Avenue into the culmination of many of the events from the previous books. I strongly suggest that you read the previous books in the series to get a better grasp of why certain characters are being targeted as well as what these characters have been through. After reading those books, you'll easily become vested in these characters. You'll start to understand the pain and joy they have experienced.
It's great to be vested in characters but In Park Avenue Smith shows no mercy towards them. There was a constant feeling that at any point, one of them would be killed and that Smith would continue the story with the focus on another. Furthermore, Smith also drops in numerous questionable characters, never knowing where their allegiances lie until he wants you to. This keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the book.
Overall, I liked the book and would recommend the series as a whole to anyone who fancies suspense, thrillers, and tragedies. My only beef is that coming in at 300+ pages, I found Park Avenue to be a quick read; almost too quick. The pacing of the book is fast and furious. When I got to the end, I wished the book could have been longer. There is more than enough here to comfortably fit in 400+ pages while still keeping the reader hooked.

The long awaited Park Avenue delivers!! Success is based on hard work, perseverance, and in real life sometimes who you are and who you know. The Redmans are very powerful and very successful. With prestige, you're bound to make a few enemies along the way. With the Redmans, this is an understatement. A vendetta against them lives even beyond the grave of one of their dead enemies. The Revenge continues until there is NO REDMAN standing. In a world, where your friends are few and who you can truly trust even fewer, Leanna Redman is up against more than her share of enemies. To make it worse, there is a new Redman in town, her cousin, Pepper. Pepper is determined to latch on the Redman name, at all costs. Though Leanna has never been the Redman that her family wants her to be, would they actually sabotage her from making a name for herself? Even those that she thinks she can trust may have secrets and their own agendas that may not only destroy her future but may fulfill a dead man's agenda of ensuring that NO REDMAN survives. Christopher Smith is at his best bringing you to what we love about New York and the dark side that even the richest and most successful are no match against. A page turning thriller that combines humor, wit, and the surviving characters of the Fifth Avenue series together in one great story. As is always the case with Smith, no one is ever safe. He once again makes you fall in love with some of the strongest characters who unfortunately are unable to survive a plan put in motion years ago from a former enemy and dead man who will stop at nothing to ensure that his revenge is complete until ALL of the REDMANS are destroyed. If you are new to Smith, start with Book One - First Avenue so that you understand the history of the Redmans. Once you start this thrilling series, you will not be able to put it down. A great read for thriller lovers!
