About the Author
Florence Fabricant is an acclaimed food writer who contributes regularly to The New York Times dining section. She is the author of nine cookbooks, including The New York Restaurant Cookbook and Park Avenue Potluck. The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is a volunteer organization dedicated to promoting the well-being and comfort of patients, supporting cancer research, and providing public education on the prevention, detection, and treatment of cancer.

This book was almost exactly what I expected it to be. Well worth the money and all for a good cause (applause, applause!). The photography was absolutely stunning, and the recipes were unpretentious. Even those of us who don't have a Park Avenue address can adopt both the recipes and decorative arrangements for our own gatherings at home. I will very likely purchase future printings as well as recommend this book to friends.

Not particularly impressed with this book, although the purchase was for an excellent cause. Photographs were fun, and comments from individuals so over the top as to be quite humorous. However, not a book for foodies. Recipes were banal, nothing new, and frankly boring. Had the purchase not been to benefit The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre, I would have been seriously disappointed.
