Built in 1884, Park Hall is the home of the Free Congregation of Sauk County, Wisconsin. With its roots in the German liberal revolution of 1848, the Free Congregation stands for free thought, free speech and free expression of traditional American values.
Each of the three authors covers a different aspect of Free Congreation history. Max Gaebler tells of its birth in the Germany in 1848. Peter Shrake places the Congregation in the context of American history at mid-19th Century. Paul Wolter outlines the life and career of the Hall's designer, architect Alfred Clas.
