I was attracted to the Park & Sun PB-PRO Pitchback Pro because of the large dimensions of the tubing and the hinge assembly that would allow me to easily fold the unit and place it in my garage. The first unit I recieved arrived with the box trashed and the netting, hing pieces, and hardware missing. I promptly recieved a replacement box and it contained everything I needed to assemble the unit.
Unfortunately, the tolerance on the nipples and flanges of the tubing pieces varies considerably. After juggling pieces around and pushing and tugging, I ended up with two pieces that should have fit with other pieces but absolutely did not fit any of the pieces. On one vertical piece the nipple was too big and would not fit into any of the flanges; on a corner piece the recieving flange was too small to recieve any of the vertical pieces. Also, the tubing is made of rolled steel tubing, and the weld is not ground off of the interior of the tubing so that virtually all of the pieces are difficult to fit together. The packaging was insufficient as several pieces came with the paint rubbed off with rust showing through due to shifting of the contents. There was rust dust on the plastic sleves covering the tubing, particularly at the tube ends. Nice idea, poor execution.

Received the order in a timely fashion however, the box was badly I mean badly damaged . It was a birthday gift for a family member . I always order early , mistake , returns are 30 days . We had the party 45 days later when we opened the box rust went on the carpet did you ever try to get rust out of off- white carpeting . To make things even worse it was missing all the hardware for putting it together . Probably fell out of the hole in the box that was there before they shipped it to me . HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!! and your welcome for the carpet stain , all new things come rusty , you didn't know that ?

I had no quality control problems reported by others. Frame was clean and went together without problems. I did have to think some to attach the net to the frame using bungee cords provided. The instructions aren't much help. The picture on Amazon is of a net attched with individual clips. The new method is to use continuous elastic cords, three for the top, three for the bottom, plus two more for the back panel. Start at the middle of the frame (where everything folds together)and work up to the top threading cord every third hole in net, use another to go across the top, third to go down to the middle of the frame again. Do same for bottom half of net. Once I got it figured out went on quickly. The pitchback works wonderfully. Note, it is very large!

I bought this for my son (age 7) for Christmas and just now got to putting it together. It took about an hour to assemble and seems to be very sturdy so far. The instructions were vague, especially the first step which was largely the most critical one. I actually had to re-assemble the first bits after reading the instructions further.
So my suggestion to anyone buying this is that you should read all of the instructions to begin with and study the pictures carefully before beginning. Once I figured out the details on my own, the pitchback went together pretty smoothly. There are no tools required though if you have weaker fingers you might wish to have a wrench available. The pitchback has been in use for only a short while so I cannot know about durability yet, though it does look to be strong and durable. The frame is solid and heavy and will stand up to use, though I am unsure about how the weather might impact it over time. The net is no better or worse than any other pitchback net I've seen, so I suspect that it will be the first thing to go (as was the case for my own pitchbacks when I was a kid).
