5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable and Durable
I own a lot of bike tools. Probably enough to open a shop. The one tool I use more than any other in my arsenal is the Park Tool AWS-1 Y-shaped Hex wrench, because it's comfortable, durable, and useful for 90% of all the bolts on a bike.

Pros:

- The wrench arms themselves are made of high quality steel that seems to resist wear and tear, regardless...

3.0 out of 5 stars Too Big
Ball end allen drivers are usually for the tighter spaces. This thing is way too large for most of those places.

I own a lot of bike tools. Probably enough to open a shop. The one tool I use more than any other in my arsenal is the Park Tool AWS-1 Y-shaped Hex wrench, because it's comfortable, durable, and useful for 90% of all the bolts on a bike.

Pros:

- The wrench arms themselves are made of high quality steel that seems to resist wear and tear, regardless of how often I use them.

- The y-shaped design allows for a good amount of torque to be placed upon the bolt head

- The plastic "body" is comfortable in the hand, and has been very durable over the past year

- I have used the tool to work on bikes 2-3 times per week for over a year, and it doesn't show a single sign of "wearing out."

- It's relatively cheap compared to some other specialty tools, especially Park Tool brand

Con:

- The y-shaped design makes tightening bolts in recessed or tight areas somewhat difficult, especially seatpost clamp bolts on posts like Thomson (2 x 4mm bolts). For those jobs, another (smaller) hex wrench is significantly better-suited.

I like mine so much, I'm going to get the AWS-3 containing the smaller wrench set.

Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars YOU SHOULD HAVE ONE ALREADY, April 22, 2007
This review is from: Park Tool 3-Way Wrenches (Sports)
ALL bike life on this planet would cease to exist without the 4/5/6 Allen Y wrench. Since campi never made one, Park is THE BEST. If you do ANY wrenching on your bike you should buy this NOW or sooner. You will use it all the time. Park makes great quality tools.

This AWS-3 2, 2.5, 3mm Park Hex Tool is well made out of quality steel with standard hex tips. The center of the tool is made of a durable plastic as are the individual sleeves at the bases of each of the allen keys, that keeps them from scuffing any painted surface that comes in contact while using the tool. The overall length is 2 7/8" from the center of the tool to the tip of each of the allen keys and the space in between each hex tip is 4 7/8". Overall an excellent and handy tool, highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, high quality steel. Small complaint..., January 9, 2012

This tool is perfect, except that the version I received has no size indicated via color, as in the picture. So instead of always going to, say, the blue one, you have to try to judge the right size and then flip it around if you are wrong. I like the tool a lot but -1 star for the exclusion of the color indicating caps, as pictured.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great tool, gets the job done, December 29, 2011

We have a couple of these puppies at out workshop, i also decided to buy my own for home use. 4,5,6 are the most commonly used hex wrenches on bikes, so this Y-wrench lets you easily switch between all of the three instantaneously. you also have decent control when turning bolts, the leverage is great. the only reason i give it 4 stars is because i found the metal to be a little too soft when used over an extended period of time, such as in the workshop.

perfect little companion for the occasional bicycle enthusiast, too heavy for traveling though.

This is a must have tool for any bike repair shop at home. Order the balldriver instead of the flat end. Will give you a better torque on an angle. Sometimes it's a bit hard to use in tight places but overall would not do without

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid, August 17, 2011

Solid tool from Park.

This is my go-to and does just about everything i typically do on the bike. The only thing I've notices is using for saddle adjustments can be a problem because turning radius is less than using a collapsing wrench which can spin about 330degrees. the maximum when you're close to he seatpost is about 90 degrees.

This is the first tool I grab.

I also like that there is blue ring on the middle size which makes it very easy visual reference to know what the middle size is. Obviously some thought went into the design of this product.
