Product Description

One of the quickest, easiest ways to destroy a set of chainring nuts is to try jamming a flathead in the slot to hold them in place. Do yourself a huge favor and pick up the Park Tool CNW-2C Chainring Nut Wrench. You'll be glad you did when you get your rings off without a hacksaw and a shredded crankarm spider.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's not the tool's fault, February 14, 2010

This tool performs a mediocre job of tightening my chain ring. Ideally my chainring would just be designed better than having those stupid, tiny little slots which apparently aren't even uniformly produced unlike allen nuts and bolts. So, hopefully you don't need this tool, but if you do, it will get the job done. and not at a bad price either.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not great, but still better than anything I had, October 1, 2009

After struggling to find anything that would hold the nuts when trying to remove the chainrings on my bike, I found this tool online and was pleased that the price was so reasonable. From the pictures, it looked like the perfect solution, but I was a bit disappointed to find that it didn't really fit down in the slots of the nuts very well. It still worked better than anything I tried from my toolbox, but being from a reputable company like Park Tool, I expected it to work perfectly. My chainrings are just standard Shimano stuff, so it should have worked fine. I'm going to file a couple edges and then it should work great. It just seems like it should have worked great without any modification.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cheap, February 13, 2012

This review is from: Park Tool Chainring Nut Wrench - CNW-2C (Misc.)
If you change your chain ring more than twice a year this tool's quality is not for you. The ends that tension your bolts are thin. This means its doesn't fit snugly on your bolt. It does the job sure, but this tool is not for the bike enthusiast. It's for folks who need a tool for casual use.
