Ferrule crimp works great.

Obviously these nose pliers can be used on other things other than your bicycle so it's a good tool to have all around.

This is a great set of needle nose pliers, plus more!
The pliers are spring loaded so they open themselves effortlessly, allowing you to focus more on your task and less on managing the tool.
They also have a cutting edge, no big deal, most needle nose pliers do.
What really sets them apart is the areas designed to crimp ferrules and cable tips. Easier to use than the designated area on Park's cable and housing cutter, and way better than trying to gently use a pair of nippers without cutting the tip off.
Just get them!

For several years I had a needle nose pliers in my tool box that was basically an electrician's type of pliers. It had the serrated gripping area near the tip, and a diagonal side cutter. But I wanted something with more features and better oriented to bicycle work. The Park Tool Needle Nose Pliers seemed to be ideal based on the description. However, I found that it really only offered one advantage over the old pliers I had been using. This Park needle nose has a great crimp area for cable end caps. Other than that, it really didn't do anything that my older pliers could do. The Park Tool has 2 small round openings that are both about 3.6mm in diameter when the pliers is closed. I have yet to find a use for this feature. They do not crimp housing ferrules very well at all. The cutter is OK but the edges do not meet as well as my older pliers. The cutter is definitely not strong enough to cut brake or shifter cables - luckily I have the Park Tool CN-10 Cable & Housing Cutter.

Overall, it's a decent tool, but not quite worth the cost in view of the limited bicycle-oriented features. I give it 3 stars for being OK, there's nothing spectacular about it. And with no instructions, either with the tool or on Parks' web site, it's hard to tell what some of the intended uses are. I have uploaded a photo to the product gallery with some notes showing the items mentioned in this review.

I got these for a specific single purpose job. I'm a veterinarian and when we administer the rabies vaccine we also provide a prof of vaccine tag. I found that a very high percentage of owners forget to remove the old tag and place the new one on the collar. Se we started doing it for them. Had been using some cheap regular pliers to remove old and reapply new S hooks and tags. A bit of a bother and fumble with regular pliers. Got these and the job is now very simple. The spring loading makes all the difference. Easy and quick to remove the old and the crimp channels make it a snap and no slip to apply the new. Next appointment.

Pricey, with nice features for crimping. One of the last tools on my list so I used reward points, ($) to purchase the pliers. When park acquaired the patent rights for these, I hope they paid alot to the developer.

Great Park Tool to add to your kit, some of this stuff is just necessary or designed better for bikes and this is one of them.

To give 5 stars on this one I was considering about quality, that I've already know, how it was packing, I really recommend it.

I'm a Park tool fan, but I don't hesitate to be critical when deserved. These pliers are comfortable in the hand and they are easy to manipulate. Most tasks which require needle nose pliers in the first place require some precise movements. These pliers are spring loaded which makes use much easier.
