Nice parkflier with few drawbacks, July 25, 2011
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars

As with most review, I believe the best judge is the individual but certain background information has to be provided to be of use to the reader. So I'll start with that so you have a background to decide if this bird is for you and your situation. Before I get to that I would like to briefly summarize that this bird is a great parkflier warbird with only a few minor issues (the issues I mentioned can be fixed). From a flight characteristics perspective, it's almost as good as Parkzone Trojan T-28 I purchased months earlier. I would NOT recommend someone getting this plane if this is your first 4 channel airplane as it has a few minor challenging characteristics I'll explain below. But if you've been flying 4 channels, this bird will be great in your fleet. Why?
- looks great and fly well
- it glides well
- easy to fly once she's in the air (I'll explain what I mean below)
- landing is almost relatively easy due to its gliding characteristics
- has plenty to power to rolls, loops and inverted flight as most warbirds and more
Background:
- I got in RC planes back in 3/2011. I have progress relatively fast in my opinion since I have accumulated 12+ planes since then from 3-5 channels.
- Messerschmitt Bf-109G BNF is my 3rd warbirds (UM Trojan T-28 was my first, then Trojan T-28, then Tower Hobby P-51D Mustang)
Bad/issues:
- The distant between landing gear is relatively small/tight. This will likely cause the plane to tip and scratch the wing tips on take-off/landing-off if the plane turns is tight or if there's a strong cross-wind. I find modifying the landing gear by making it wider resolve the issue to my liking. I am not saying this is an issue for everyone but I find it annoying and does take getting used to and will cause minor plane damage if you're not careful. I rather just widen the landing gear to avoid the issue all together my first maiden flight did cause scratches on the wing tip.
- since this plane has a little more power than most Parkzone warbird like Trojan T-28, take-off will require a slow throttle forward instead of fast throttle. Once the tail lift, throttle forward faster and apply elevator or she'll have a tendency to turn or nose dive before take-off.
hope this helps

Woohoo! An electric ARF that screams and doesn't cost an arm and leg!, June 12, 2010
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Messerschmitt Bf-109G BNF (Toy)
This plane is amazing; stock, no mods warranted! Electrics have come a long ways since my youth, something like this would have cost an arm and a leg back in the day. Finally an ARF that requires almost no prep time and that is electric that flies like an animal. Replacement parts are cheap and this beast repairs easily. The engine has a lot of torque which pulls the plane left when the RPMs are increased; so be warned. This characteristic is mentioned in the manual.

Parkzone Bf-109G BNF, November 13, 2009
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Messerschmitt Bf-109G BNF (Toy)
While I would not categorize this product as a toy, it is a load of fun. The Bf-109G is highly detailed, accurate in scale to the degree possible yet highly durable in construction and design. I have several Parkzone scale aircraft products and find this one to be the best so far. I did add the optional flaps to the aircraft and found the reduction in aileron surface made the aircraft less stable. I would recommend leaving the ailerons at full size and using the alternate flap option, if flaps are desired. Otherwise, the performance is excellent and matches the appearance. An excellent product for those just beyond beginner status. Bind and Fly gives you a good savings while eliminating the need for multiple transmitters. The manufacturers must be congratulated for placing products in the market place with this option.
