Good, clean party fun, December 7, 2009

Although I'm not a fan of social games, this one encourages players to creatively communicate. The basics is this: You have a word you need to get someone else to say, but you cannot use the 5 words underneath it to describe it. Because everyone thinks of things differently, it's one that you can play over and over again. Caution though, couples who have been married a long time will have an advantage, so don't let 'em be on the same team :-D.

Great family and party game, November 27, 2009
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars

This is a great 4-person game, in which one person is giving clues, another from the opposite team is watching over his or her shoulder to ensure the clue-giver is not using any of the "taboo" words, his or her partner is guessing, and the other opponent is the time-keeper.
More than four people play in teams, and it's fun to both guess and provide clues, and challenging enough to keep you on your toes and laughing.
My advice for having the most fun and gaining the competitive edge is to personalize your clues. If you use a taboo word and get "buzzed," it's distracting, so it's better to just scan them quickly, so you know what they are, and then use shared experiences and/or preferences. For "spaghetti," when you can't say Italian, pasta, sauce, noodle, meatballs, etc. you mention what your partner had for lunch at Olive Garden, or if you've ever gone to a Revolve Tour or read Chad Eastham: what girls are, if guys are waffles
Guys Are Waffles, Girls Are Spaghetti.

I purchased the game for Christmas. We took it to our skiing trip & played it with a group of 12 people. Everyone had a lot of fun even the kids like it and played the game throughout the whole trip. I would highly recommend this game to everyone!
