Bring back the old Boggle!,

This version of Boggle is not nearly as good as the classic version. If you can find back stock of the old version at some out-of-the-way toy store, get that instead. This version has much, much smaller dice, so they are much harder to see, and it doesn't work for groups of more than three or so, and will not work at all for people trying to crane their necks across a normal-sized dinner table. There is a lid that prevents the dice from getting out of the box, but that cover has almost no clearance. This means that the dice tend to stay in the same slot, and you don't have too many games pass before you're seeing the same letter combinations. It really takes the fun out of the game. Additionally, the cover is easily scuffed up by the white paint on each die, so this version has only a very short shelf life before it becomes even harder to see the letters. Yes, the incorporated timer is nice, but how hard could it have been to include one without ruining the board?
The game itself is a lot of fun, plenty of opportunities for learning to spell in English or other languages, which is why I give it 2 stars. In a competition with classic Boggle, this is a zero-stars product, no question. Possibly it would be ok as a travel game, but not for game night.

Get the original version instead!,

I loved Boggle as a kid, and was happy that a friend gave my son the game for his birthday. Unfortunately, this 'new, improved' version is a far cry from the original. The dice get stuck on top of one another when shaken (very frustrating, time-consuming, and NOT fun), and the interior plastic is so scratched after owning the game for just two weeks, that it is very difficult now to see the letters. Also, because the top of the letter cubes are level with the top of the game, it is impossible to play in a group without everyone leaning over the game, making it difficult for everyone to see it at the same time. The built-in timer is nice, but that's the only thing it has going for it. Go for the more simple, original version instead. I expect that we will be unable to use this after a few more rounds, due to the scratching.

Boggle is a really fun and mind challenging game. Hopefully you've played before if you are looking at this. This one is nice because you can't lose any pieces and it has a BUILT IN timer that beeps when time is up! (Much better than having to watch the hourglass one.) If you want a travel version, I would highly recommend this one over any other. The letters are smaller than the normal version, but still very readable. I highly recommend this one!

I just bought this 5 days ago and it is already broke(GRRR). The dice got stuck on top of each other and I can't free them. The plastic on top is so scratched from the dice you have to strain your eyes to play. I would recommend the older version myself. The top comes off and the dice won't get stuck. I plan on buying it.

Why fix a design that isn't broken?,

I love boggle, but this new design sucks the fun out of the game. The dice kept getting stuck on top of each other, to the point where I had to hit it off of my hand repeatedly to get them to dislodge. It was really hard to get the dice to fall into place so that it could be twisted into position. The dice are also way too small. If you play with a large group of people, you can't see the letters if you sit the game in the center of the table like you could with the old one. I guess it would be nice for a car trip, but for overall use, I would much rather have the old version of the game. I checked at ToysRUs last night and discovered that Hasbro doesn't even make the original version of the game anymore. Why they stopped making the old version is beyond me.
I really hate this new design (and, consequently, whoever made it)

My family loves to play boggle. We purchased this version for my house as it was the only one available in the stores. I like that you can't lose any of the pieces and that it is self contained. However, the dice and letters are too small. Our parents kept getting low scores because they thought the n was an m, etc. Plus we were all leaning over the table trying to see and the kids kept moving the game to see it better which resulted in people yelling, "HEY!" Boggle is great but this one is too small which made it not as much fun.

Unfortunately this product was a failure!@ It had complicated instructions that two adults could not get the mechanism base to turn to work the game. We will be sending this item back to the vendor.

I was excited to get this game and play it, remembering how fun it was when I was a kid. We never even got the chance to play it. After a couple of twists, the dice got stuck on top of each other and it took forever to get them dislodged. At that point it was tilted funny and now we can't shake it, which makes it pretty much useless. I'd avoid this newer version and try and find an old one.

I really enjoy this game so I got it for my kids and I to play. After shaking it only three times one of the letters got stuck. We couldn't get it unstuck for quite awhile. When we finally did the letters are now slanted, the timer won't work, etc. Irritating!
