Editorial Review

Call the police! (Again!) The unfortunate Mr. Boddy has been showing up dead in his mansion ever since Anthony Pratt invented the game of Clue in England in 1944. Here's another chance for intrepid country-house weekenders like you to do him in (or have fun trying to figure out who did). In this 50th Anniversary edition, the 19-inch, square green board represents nine rooms in the Boddy mansion. The suspects are 1.75-inch metal figurines of Colonel Mustard, Professor Plum, Mrs. Peacock, and the late Mr. Boddy's other so-called friends. Other game elements include a die, a Clue card pack, and a pad for keeping track of suspects, locations, and weapons. The weapons are 1.5-inch-long metal models of a dagger, a pipe wrench, etc. Read the story of a weekend gone tragically wrong, and then set up the board and seek the awful truth. Just be sure to watch your back--unless, of course, YOUdunit. --Richard Farr

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game!, November 13, 1999
By A Customer
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Parker Brothers: CLUE 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition in Metal Tin (Board Game)
"Clue" has always been my favorite board game. But I only had an old, beat-up version, until my most recent birthday, when I got this! "Clue" anniversary edition is really very nice. There is a new weapon, the poison, and the character tokens are metal and look like statues of the people. It's neat to see what Mrs. Peacock and prof. Plum look like! This version thought of everything, from a hard surface to write to to something to write with. It even comes with an expanded story about Mr. Body's murder. Probably the only problem is not enough detective papers for all the times you will play this! (Don't worry, it gives you a place to send away for more.) Be warned-- this is a fancy version, probably something you don't want 5-year-olds playing with.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Upgrade for a Classic Game!!!, July 13, 1999
By A Customer
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Parker Brothers: CLUE 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition in Metal Tin (Board Game)
The game itself is a pleasure. A who-dunnit mystery were you compete for clues and try to solve a murder in the grand tradition of Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle. Each player manuvers into rooms and attemps to eliminate suspects through questions. Was it Professor Plum in the Library with the Candelstick? A definite educational experience as you learn deductive reasoning and the proccess of elimination.

But you probably know how to play the game. It is a classic after all! This specific, upgraded edition adds sculpted metal figures to represent the players, new art work on the board and cards, and new versions of everyones favorite pieces, the murder weapons! It all comes in a durable metal container. This is my favorite part, as it takes much less room to store than the classic version, and will last much longer than a cardboard box. I really love this format!

The only possible drawback to this game is the small, loosable peices. They really add to the charm of the game, and I suggest accounting for them after every game.

This is one of the best upgrades of a classic game that I have seen. I bought it immediately.

This review is from: Parker Brothers: CLUE 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition in Metal Tin (Board Game)
The game is as fun as ever. The redseigned weapons and the new poison weapon add excitement to the game, as do the amazingly designed charcters, which are now miniture statues of the people instead of just the lame little color piece, but dont worry about knowing the difference between them, there respective colors are at the bottom of each figure. The tin case is much more durable than cardboard, my old box is in about 20 pieces. Everything looks more realistic, and since everything is redesigned it is a great new expierence for everyone. Since the small pieces are easy to lose, and hard to replace, you should always check to see if you have all the cards and pieces after each game and to put them in a little plastic bag after your done. The game helps children learn deductive skills, and exercises their brains. Wonderful game.
