This review is from: Parker Brothers: CLUE 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition in Metal Tin (Board Game)
"Clue" has always been my favorite board game. But I only had an old, beat-up version, until my most recent birthday, when I got this! "Clue" anniversary edition is really very nice. There is a new weapon, the poison, and the character tokens are metal and look like statues of the people. It's neat to see what Mrs. Peacock and prof. Plum look like! This version thought of everything, from a hard surface to write to to something to write with. It even comes with an expanded story about Mr. Body's murder. Probably the only problem is not enough detective papers for all the times you will play this! (Don't worry, it gives you a place to send away for more.) Be warned-- this is a fancy version, probably something you don't want 5-year-olds playing with.

A Great Upgrade for a Classic Game!!!,

The game itself is a pleasure. A who-dunnit mystery were you compete for clues and try to solve a murder in the grand tradition of Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle. Each player manuvers into rooms and attemps to eliminate suspects through questions. Was it Professor Plum in the Library with the Candelstick? A definite educational experience as you learn deductive reasoning and the proccess of elimination. But you probably know how to play the game. It is a classic after all! This specific, upgraded edition adds sculpted metal figures to represent the players, new art work on the board and cards, and new versions of everyones favorite pieces, the murder weapons! It all comes in a durable metal container. This is my favorite part, as it takes much less room to store than the classic version, and will last much longer than a cardboard box. I really love this format! The only possible drawback to this game is the small, loosable peices. They really add to the charm of the game, and I suggest accounting for them after every game. This is one of the best upgrades of a classic game that I have seen. I bought it immediately.

The game is as fun as ever. The redseigned weapons and the new poison weapon add excitement to the game, as do the amazingly designed charcters, which are now miniture statues of the people instead of just the lame little color piece, but dont worry about knowing the difference between them, there respective colors are at the bottom of each figure. The tin case is much more durable than cardboard, my old box is in about 20 pieces. Everything looks more realistic, and since everything is redesigned it is a great new expierence for everyone. Since the small pieces are easy to lose, and hard to replace, you should always check to see if you have all the cards and pieces after each game and to put them in a little plastic bag after your done. The game helps children learn deductive skills, and exercises their brains. Wonderful game.

And this game is great! I love the little figurines, and the story about Mr. Boddy (I always wondered who was murdered!). I have always loved the game- but the only time I could play it was when I went to my cousins house. Now I have this game and love it! I only have two problems with it: I don't like the re-desiging of the rooms- I think the mantion looks too modern- I like the old version better in that respect and in the re-desiging of the characters. I like some of the new people, but what happened to Asian Miss Scarlet? Over all though, I love it!

I loved the original one. When I saw the new 50th anniversary one, with better, more detailed weapons, real medal people, With detailed faces instead of the "pawn tokens" , a new colored board surrounded by gold on the rim, and nice beautifully detailed cards depicting every suspect, room, and weapon. The classic, whodunnit game, which everybody loves, now inside a nice, tough, tin protective case, that lasts much longer then the cardboard. If you don't know what clue is, I am going to be forced to mur.....I mean, commit you. just kidding. Anyway, there are even Invitations, that are sturdy and have plastic clips to hook you detective sheet on. The clips are in the gold tin. The game is simple, yet hard to win. By process of elimination, you have to find out who did it, with what weapon, in what room. First, you divide the cards into 3 piles, by weapons, rooms, suspects. Shuffle them face down and then choose the top card of each pile and put it into the green case file, so nobody can see, not even the person shuffling, unless they aren't playing. You roll the die, (as you would do in any game with a die....dduuuhhh!), and move up the game board. When you enter a room you can make a suggestion. You move everything you say in the suggestion, into the room. You MUST be in the room you are making a suggestion about. Lets say, you suggest, "I think mr. green used the lead pipe in the ballroom" you move the lead pipe and Mr. Green into the ballroom. The person to your left looks at his/her cards to see if she has one of them. If he/she has one, he/she has to show it to you, so you know that that card is not in the crime. If he/she has more then one, he/she chooses one to show you. After you are shown the card, mark it on your detective sheet to keep track of what you know. Noone can see the card but the person who made the suggestion. If the person to your immediate left doesn't have one you go to the next person. If none of them have one, you can make a guess, or you can end your turn. By making a guess you anounce that you are and check the case file, ONLY YOU can look at the cards. If you get it right, you won. If you didn't you put them back in and cannot make any other suggestions or accusations. You still have to show cards to other people if necessary. Those are pretty much the game rules, it is an awesome game, and works your mind instead of watching tv. Its a great family game, which is not the same twice. So take my advice and get it!!!

Whether your 6 or 106 you will have fun playing this game. And it is SO simple to learn but hard to master, (Even though I think I can beat anyone!) Here's why you should buy or upgrade to the new Clue:The Game Pieces: Carved out of pewter gives it an kind of "dark and mysterious" look to the players and weapons. Clipboard so no one will fight over who gets the pad compared to just one piece of paper cause they can't write on anything. Board: Outlined in a gold color gives it a fancy look. Bottom line: Nothing is wrong with it! The only problem you will ever face is maybe not having enough players to play. 5 stars! *****

I have always loved Clue, but I could only play my parents' ratty Clue game from the early 70's with a torn box and a missing revolver. I got this game for Christmas and it is great! There is a 7th weapon, poison, and every peice is so much better! It is a great family game and I really reccomend it.

A Classic Clue Fan's Opinion,
By
This review is from: Parker Brothers: CLUE 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition in Metal Tin (Board Game)
As a fan of the classic board game, Clue, I would recommend this product to everyone. Kids will appreciate this game because it's fun, but older children and adults will further apprciate it for it's beauty. The players take shape in detailed metal figurines, and the weapons, equally detailed, come in a case, so you don't lose them. The board is pretty, but keeps it's same classic design, and the game actually comes with pencils for every player. All this is enclosed in a metal box. Yeah, I know I sound like a commercial, but this game is truly worth your while if you're a Clue fan, or just a mystery buff.

This whodunnit game is hillariously fun to play and it will hone you detective skills as well. You will be in stitches trying to guess who the murderer is, where it was done and what was used. Kids can play along with an adult on a team to learn how to play. The game itself though is a little flimsy. The small murder weapons can be easily lost and if a card is missing, replacing it is difficult. Overall, it's a great game that makes you use your head.
