In the past, I have used the Parker Urban Pens. One that I had for over five years in a brushed gold colored finish held up great. When I had issues with the shirt clip, Parker fixed the pen at no charge. Very impressive that Parker stood behind their product. Great until I lost it.

I replaced it with a Parker Urban Twilight Blue Gel Pen and the pen functions as well as my previous Parkers. What really is disappointing is how the finish scratches really easily. Since I keep this pen either in my pocket, or my tablet case, I was really surprised about the scratches that developed. What has resulted is a pen that works well, really looks bad.

I will be contacting Parker regarding this issue to see how they can rectify the situation. I will have a follow up review.

This pen is very comfortable to hold and cool looking to boot. The medium black ink cartridge is smooth writing and solid. Too bad gel refills are the most readily available and not the ballpoint that comes with it. Very good price to boot. A solid and nice performer without giving in to China!

I love this pen! Yes, it is a bit heavy for my hand but I think this is something I can overcome with time. The shape is ideal. I'm a woman with small hands and a bit of arthritis and I'm always on the lookout for something that feels good in my hand. I use a gel refill and this contributes to a smooth writing experience.
This pen screams elegance and style!

I didn't like the way this pen was weighted, and didn't like the way it felt in my hand. it was too heavy and felt imbalanced. I also didn't care for the way the ink flowed from the pen. Disappointed.

This was a gift for a friend of mine and she loves it. The pen is a little heavy, all the body is made form metal but you would have no trouble writing with it.

BTW this is a gel ink pen.

Good writing instruments can become lifelong companions, despite how corny that may sound. The iconic Parker Pen Company's Urban line of pens are a very affordable option. They are hip and stylish, effortless when filled with Parker's gel ink refills. One word of caution: They are not designed for comfort. The thicker barrel is attractive but somewhat impractical.

Pros: Weight is heavy enough to feel like a quality pen. Mating of the lower and upper section is flawless. The shape is interesting but effective for holding it. The twist action for showing and hiding the refill point is smooth.

Cons: Twisting the pen is also used to unscrew and separate the lower and upper sections to replace the refill. This can easily happen while retracting the point in normal use. This is a design flaw in my opinion. The upper and lower sections should have been made to pull apart to provide access to the refill.
