This brush holds a lot of water and produces a great lather.

I was a bit weary about buying a Parker brush for some reason, but I will be purchasing another one in the future.

I've never had a badger hair, but I can say that this one works much better than the boar hair brush that I have.

It's really, really soft. (Also, thick). Is it softer than a really expensive badger brush?

(Are we shaving, or in a toilet paper contest?)

After (a) having a badger hair brush that fell apart in months, and (b) learning about the way that it's sourced (inhumane, to say the least), I was on the lookout for a durable synthetic brush with a little weight to it.

(1) Durable
(2) Thick (see video review)
(3) Soft
(4) Contemporary vintage

Have had it quite a bit of time and haven't lost a single (not a single) bristle.

(Be sure to dry it before hanging it upside down).

I own a Muhle black fibre synthetic brush, which costs twice as much, and I find this to be a softer and better brush. The brush has got some heft to it, as the handle is sturdy and well built. The synthetic fibres on this brush are better than any grade of badger with the exception of possibly silver-tip badger brushes. Even then it's hard to tell the difference. Here's what you get with this brush:

1) For the softness of the brush, it's on par with badger silvertip brushes at only 1/5th the cost.
2) Performance exceeds any badger brush. Produces immense lather, as fibres don't hold it in in the brush, but "put-out" all the lather.
3) The brush was created without harming an animal, and it doesn't have that funky badger or boar or horse smell.

I was a bit weary about buying a Parker brush for some reason, but I will be purchasing another one in the future. I've already recommended it to my family and friends.

EDIT: I've been using this brush use daily for the past month, and it's become my go to brush. It is amazing for face lathering. I've sold off all my badger and horse hair brushes. I will only be using this or other synthetic brushes from now on.

I had a badger brush for many years, and it did a very good job before finally becoming bald. I had a boar brush for a short while. It was totally unsatisfactory. It smelled bad and went bald very quickly. I have had the Parker synthetic brush for a bit over a year, and I'm very happy with it. It did take a good while to get used to, as its bristles seem much stiffer than badger bristles. I learned that I should swirl the brush vigorously around against my face. Doing this released a lot of lather from the brush and worked the lather into my face very pleasantly. I also learned that after I applied the initial lather to my face I could squeeze the brush with a finger on each side and then pull the brush gently down through my fingers. This released large amounts of thick lather that I could then spread around my face, resulting in lather thicker and warmer than the stuff that comes out of cans. Having learned all this, I now find the performance of the synthetic brush to be superior to all others, not to mention the fact that I like badgers, and I'm in favor of their survival.

My experiences with the Parker synthetic have been positive. It works well for me as a face lathering brush, as I do not use a bowl or mug. I believe that the savage criticism of this product that is repeated on a couple of wet shaving forums by one pompous twit is simply due to a bad brush or a quality control issue. There are sometimes quality control issues with products made in India, China or indeed anywhere else.
Indeed, see [...] for evidence that most of the new synthetic shaving brushes use the very same synthetic fibre material. Before buying the Parker synthetic, I bought the Turkish horse hair brush, and I bought three because of quality control warnings, and I wanted to be sure of getting a good one. The three were all good. The Parker synthetic shaving brush that I have is great and should last a long time, and it is much cheaper than other products using the very same fibre material, especially in my country. It performs very well, and dries quickly, it is a great shaving brush.

I have never used an expensive badger hair brush, and am never likely to. The only badger hair brushes in my country available for a reasonable price are the ones made in China from the very same Chinese badger hair used to make very costly brushes in the U.K. The Chinese synthetic shaving brush that shall remain un-named apparently uses the same material as the Parker, it simply has a different handle and brand name. I will confirm this when I next travel to China. Why should badgers or other animals die to provide material for shaving brushes? Get a Parker synthetic brush, and you will not regret it. There is no dead animal smell to wash out, and it will be a great brush.

Excellent service and product. The synthetic bristles are just the right texture on the skin and work impressively well to generate a rich creamy lather in about a minute. Basically the product performs as per the description. Thank you.

At first I thought the bristles were a bit too soft, but now find that they lather up the soap really well. The synthetic feature means that my shower does not smell like a wet animal. I'd buy another if I needed one.
