This pen is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted "my own" pen but couldn't yet afford a Mont Blanc. This does the trick. It's got a nice weight to it and doesn't show fingerprints at all.

You should know that it is definitely not a fine point pen, a lot of ink does come out. Not too much, but a thin cheap notepad will get ink on the next page (like my staples brand letter size pads).

Like another review mentioned, which is why I got it, you can write and write and the ink seems to dry right away. I truly never smudge anything or get ink on my hands.

Great pen, great price.

This pen has a consistently bold line and is not scratchy on the page. The ink appears to dry instantly so is perfect for left handed people and those who move all over the page frequently. It has a nice weight and doesn't feel cheap at all, but I was hoping it would have a bit more heft.

This is a beautiful pen. It writes beautifully, has a good weight and is large enough to fit my hand. Little or no fatigue from long writings.Parker Sonnet Lacquer Medium Point Rollerball Pen with Golden Trim, Black (1743581)

I like Parker pens, having owned duofold for several years. This pen has a nice weight and has performed flawlessly for 3 years now. I ordered two more for graduation gifts. TCP Global sent the pens in just a few days. Refills for the pen are sold online and in office stores look for Parker rollerball refills.

I have had this pen long enough to be on the second refill. Everytime I loan it to someone to use it always gets a great comment. It is an impressive writing instrument. I love that it's a rollerball that writes effortlessly. This is my second one. The first one must have fallen out of my pocket while riding my Harley. I was sick when I realized I had lost it and just had to get a replacement. Very happy.

I have been a fan of Parker Sonnet lacquer pens for many years. I have a tendency to lose my pens every so many years so my most recent purchase was my third Sonnet. The finish, weight and feel of the pen are still great. The problem is that when I dropped the pen from waist height, the clip came off. It looks in the picture like the clip is attached to a metal right at the top as with many pens. I believe this was the way these pens were made in years past. In any case, I never had a problem if the pen fell off my desk. With this pen, however, the metal clip is merely attached to shallow slots in the plastic cap. The design is poor. What disappointed me most was that when I contacted the company by email I got a generic response suggesting that I mail the pen into their service center in Janesville. They said it would be covered under warranty only for defects in materials or workmanship. That means poor design was not a basis on which Parker would repair or replace the cap. When I replied that a pen that is sold at a premium price should be better designed and asked that they send me a replacement cap I heard nothing back. I can live with the fact that I may lose a pen every 5-10 years, but I cannot justify paying $60-80 for a pen that may break within a year. Sadly, I will not buy another Parker pen. The company now seems to be just another division of a corporate conglomerate where maintaining a hard earned reputation is less important than saving a few pennies in the manufacture of their products.

The art of fine handwriting requires a fine handwriting instrument; such as the affordable Parker Sonnet rollerball pen. The Sonnet's art-deco design and appearance hearken back to the 1920s-30s, when writing instruments were at their zenith of design, function, craftsmanship, and quality.

This pen's eye-catching, lustrous, black lacquer finish covering a brass barrel, 23K gold-plated trim, and Parker's trademark circumferential barrel rings bespeak of the pen's exceptional quality and aesthetically pleasing retro style. The Sonnet feels silky smooth to the touch, has noticeable heft, and good balance. It isn't too thick; this pen just feels right in my hand.

Parker's Quink ink medium point rollerball cartridges deliver smooth, consistent and uniform ink flow without halting starts, blotching or skipping. The medium rollerball point lays down a bold, sharp, fluid script on quality paper. The ink dries quickly, resisting smudging and smearing. There are rollerball finepoint refill cartridges available, for the finepoint aficionados. This rollerball pen makes my handwritten script and signature look nearly as regal as my fountain pens.

Discerning people will immediately recognize the Sonnet after you take it out of your pocket; and will respect your sense of taste, style, and culture. The Sonnet fountain pen, with the 18K fine point nib, makes the perfect partner to this rollerball pen. My Parker Sonnets come in a respectable second place to my Parker Duofolds.

Most of Parker's upscale pens, including the Sonnet, are manufactured in the United Kingdom. Some of the Sonnet pens had spotty quality control issues after a 2008 redesign, but judging from my Sonnets, these issues were resolved. The Parker Sonnet is available in other material and finishes; but in my opinion, the black lacquer and gold-trimmed pens are as iconic as the black evening tuxedo.

These pens make perfect gifts for him or her.
5 stars!
