Highly recommended for anyone whose life has been touched by Parkinson's.
Sarah King
She said it helped her more than anything she had read, because it proved you can have an illness and still live and laugh about it.

I downloaded this book yesterday on my Kindle and literally couldn't put it down once I started reading it in bed last night.

I downloaded this book yesterday on my Kindle and literally couldn't put it down once I started reading it in bed last night. As a person with PD (Parkinson's Disease), I find it so refreshing and uplifting to read about Bev's ability to look for the humor in her circumstances. She turns potentially embarrassing moments into opportunities to laugh, lifting hearts and making new friends on her journey. I highly recommend this book to anyone with PD, family members and friends of PD folks, caregivers, and actually, anyone facing difficult circumstances, physical or otherwise. Humor lifts our hearts. Bev has given us all an incredible gift with this book. She IS a gift! Oh, and one more thing: Not only is this book funny, it's also filled with great, down-to-earth advice for people with Parkinson's -- so much so that she's been a guest blogger on the Michael J. Fox website twice within the last few months. Kudos, "YumaBev"!

Everyone who has Parkinson's or knows someone with Parkinson's, or works in the health care industry needs to read this book. Unlike any book out there! Very funny and educational at the same time.

Bev Mittan Ribaudo, what an absolutely uplifting and funny book. It came at 6 PM today by UPS and I am already on page 98. As I read, hardly a page goes by that I don't tell my Wonderful Wife, who is 28 years my junior about what you have written about you and your Wonderful Husband who is 20 years your senior. You have written a book that is well worth the ten bucks and should be read by anyone with PD, their caretakers and anyone who wants to know what life is like with PD. Good job girl.

I could 'hear' the author's voice in every story. This lady is a real PD fighter sharing her 'war' stories. Thanks, YumaBev!

Beverly Ribaudo (Yuma Bev) has a great sense of humor. I call her "the Queen of Humor"! She has a gift to be able to share her humor with the world, and with people who have Parkinson's Disease. When Beverly writes her short stories about her daily life with Parkinson's, she always has something funny to say about that day.
Beverly writes about Parkinson's in a very light and humorous way, so everyone can understand more about the disease. This book is perfect for the newly diagnosed, as well as those who have Parkinson's for many years. It is also perfect for caregivers and family members to read out loud to their Parkinson's partners and friends. We all need humor in our daily lives! I hardly knew anything about Parkinson's but had the privilege of meeting YumaBev and hearing her speak for an hour. Her book is the next best thing--she expresses herself as openly and honestly, and with as much deadpan humor, as if she were in the room with you. This book is really an insight into how life, anyone's life, can be made better through humor. Bev has perfected the art of laughing at herself and her circumstances in a way that is uplifting, not degrading. I would like to see this book in hospital waiting rooms and care centers everywhere, as it would be helpful to anyone facing a difficult diagnosis or change in health. Plus it is easy to just open the book randomly, read a quick story, then leave with a smile. Thanks Beverly for sharing your amusing self with us all! Oh, and if anyone seeing this review has not seen Bev's YouTube videos, check her out at [...] (she admits she cannot sing, and that is part of the charm--you know this lady is genuine!)

I am a Parkinson's advocate (lost my Mom to the disease in 2010) and had been following Beverly Ribaudo's blog for a while when this book came out. I bought a copy as soon as it was available. Humor is such an important part of treating and fighting a chronic disease like Parkinson's--way too many patients sink into depression and apathy and isolate themselves. Ms. Ribaudo's approach to living with disease is refreshing, honest, and entertaining. Highly recommended for anyone whose life has been touched by Parkinson's.
