engaging indie pop/rock,
By Charlie Quaker "The Quaker Goes Deaf" (Normal, IL.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Parlovr (Audio CD)
Debut release from band out of Montreal, Canada who play creative, shimmering, evocative &compelling indie pop/rock that references every decade from the 60's to the present; yet sounds as fresh, vibrant & dangerously enticing as a sparkly new, wide-eyed & provocatively tattooed lover. It's got elements of garage rock & post-punk along with the indie rock riffs; plus screams, whispers, sing-along chorus shouts, crisp lead guitars & a "sloppy-pop" mindset. Recalls bands like Pavement, Guided By Voices, Flaming Lips, Handsome Furs, & Kiwi jangle/noise groups. |
