Hilarious ... if you were a lit major!,

Some of the funniest parodies ever written are in this book which is, unfortunately, out of print. I have had my original copy since college, but a friend of mine fell in love with it and since hard experience has taught me not to lend books I cannot easily replace (or don't care about), I went and bought one for her and her lit professor husband. They are having a GREAT time with it, except that he keeps trying to steal it from her. Maybe I should have given then two copies? You do need a background in English lit to really enjoy it ... or if you are just an avid reader and voluntarily read Chaucer and Austin and Dickens (?) ... if there is anyone who read that stuff voluntarily. Personally, I've never met anyone who has. If you did slog through this stuff in college, you will LOVE this book. It will make you laugh until your sides hurt.

If you're a reader of older, classic lit, I can imagine no better source of chuckles than this collection of parodies.
