3.0 out of 5 stars It's just okay
Found out during installation that if your car has gps navigation, you must install an external speaker (sound quality so-so). The reason is the nav system already cuts off radio speakers when it's in use. You can't use a second cut off device without elaborate and sometimes dicey wiring. Hence the external speaker, which can be tough to hear at times, even with volume...

If you are intending to install this item in a vehicle sold in the U.S., you will need ISO adapters. My 2004 Chevrolet Pickup with the Bose Sound system required two adapters at 20 dollars each. The install was 50 dollars on top of that. I still like the system, but want to make sure all buyers are aware of this fact. If you have questions, contact a local stereo installer and they will tell you if they have the adapters needed.

The reason is the nav system already cuts off radio speakers when it's in use. You can't use a second cut off device without elaborate and sometimes dicey wiring. Hence the external speaker, which can be tough to hear at times, even with volume way up, due to road noise. Also, no privacy unless you want to shut down bluetooth to use phone normally.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! Just remember to get a wiring harness., October 13, 2006

The Parrot bluetooth car kit was easy to install once I got the wiring harness. It was literally plug-and-play for me in my 2006 Accord. The final bill was $310, which included a swivel mount, wire harness and the device itself. I installed it myself; it took about 4 hours. Excellent device and great speech clarity

4.0 out of 5 stars After 18 months, January 1, 2008
This review is from: Parrot Bluetooth Color Display Car Kit (Electronics)
I have had the ck3200 for near two years now and have had it installed in 2 different vehicles. I will highly recommend this product for safety minded drivers! Most of the reviews you have read are fairly accurate. It pairs very easy with bluetooth capable phones. However, what you need to know is the following: if possible have the mini-microphone mounted as close to your driving position as possible. I have mine mounted right above my speedometer. Also, make sure that you have the internal mic up all the way. The sound is wonderful when receiving a call...but I spent most of the first year with folks not being able to hear me very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Parrot 3200 Car Kit, March 8, 2007
This review is from: Parrot Bluetooth Color Display Car Kit (Electronics)
Awesome bluetooth car kit. Works exactly as advertised. Syncs with my Treo 700p flawlessly evertime I get in my car. Also hooks up with my girlfriend's phone when she is riding with me. Great for streaming MP3's to the sound system as well. Display is clear and functions are easy to use.

The only negative that I can think of is that this is not necessarily an install that you want to do on your own. Especially if your car has a factory stereo with a built in amplifier. It gets pretty complicated and is likely beyond most layman's ability. The instructions are a little vague and being that its manufactured with wiring for european cars its definately not plug and play. There are some good third party wiring harnesses available though that make it a whole lot easier.

Once its in place though it is Great!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to install and lots of amazing features, July 5, 2006
The Parrot 3200 was installed today in my car and I'm just amazed. The first thing is car installation. This was too easy. I went to a car & radio shop and the guys there didn't have a problem at all installing this product eventough it was their first time doing it. I have an iMate SP5 and it bound to the car kit real easy. What is really nice is that once you start the car engine, the car kit will bind to the phone automatically, you'll have to do nothing. Once you're phone is bound to the car kit, the kit will start to synchronize the contacts in the phone so you won't need the phone to search for a contact and so on. The kit has three buttons, one to answer or confirm and action, another to browse the phone functions and a third one to cancel an action. This is all you need to browse your contacts, configure the car kit, make or receive calls and so on. You can also add voice commands, voice tags, add photos for your contacts, etc. In total, this car kit is great, lots of features and, eventough the price is a little bit higher than all others, you will find it very usefull and become used to it real quick

5.0 out of 5 stars A very smart purchase, February 2, 2007
This review is from: Parrot Bluetooth Color Display Car Kit (Electronics)
I had my Parrot devise installed professionally the day after I received it in the mail. This is by far one of the best purchases I've made in terms of cell phone devices. The sound quality is clear and excellent. You don't have to yell in the mic to be heard on the other person's line. It was easy to link to my T-Mobile sidekick. This unit is very easy to use. If you have kids, I highly recommend this item. I'm getting another one to put in my wife's van.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Product, July 30, 2006
By
I have owned the Parrot 3200LS car kit for over a month. It is installed in my Honda Oddysey, and works great. Conversations are much clearer than they are on the cell phone alone. The callers voices are heard over the car stereo speakers, and the impression is like carrying on a conversation with a passenger in the van. It is a well designed unit, with a well considered interface. The voicedialing works expecially well, although I would suggest using the trigger word "telephone" rather than "phone" to start the voicedialing routine.

My mechanic had a very easy time intalling the system in my car. It took him a bit under an hour and ended up costing me about $100.00.

My only criticism is the documentation. It is typical of newer electronic gear, somewhat short of specifics. however the interface is sooo easy that I had no difficulty figuring it out.

This unit has a serious problem with overheating. Anytime the car interior is warm the 3200 will display a white screen. Other reported issues include intermittently cutting off the stereo sound or getting a black screen. Parrot has not acknowledged the overheating problem, but it has been reported on several different forums.

Great unit, but only if you live in Antarctica.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Parrot 3200 LS-COLOR is a great product!, January 3, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Parrot Bluetooth Color Display Car Kit (Electronics)
This is a great unit, I have tried several hands free kits and this one beats them all. This unit is the real thing. I purchased a no cut harness made for my car to make the install easier and it did. The best place I found to mount the microphone is on the steering column close to the dash. I used the Bluetooth update feature to update the Parrot software and that worked great. I have installed the 3200 LS Color in all three of our cars using the Panavice mounting bracket made specifically for the car. The bracket really makes the install look clean and gives the unit the proper amount of support so you can use the dial and the push buttons. The Echo cancellation works great and is the best I ever experienced in a hands free product.
