Very good portable bluetooth speaker, April 26, 2008
I have been researching bluetooth speakers for the past 2 months. I wanted something small and portable, but with decent sound. I got the Parrot after returning the Yamaha NX-B02 (had an annoying, high-pitched whine when using bluetooth) Bluetooth Speaker - Black.
It syncs easily, runs on rechargeable batteries, and is very portable. The sound is very good, probably about as good as you will get on speakers this size. There is, however, some slight distortion in the upper frequencies when playing it loud (it gets surprisingly loud), although I have not tried to adjust the equalizer yet(comes with it on a computer disc). When compared to the Yamaha, it's fairly close(except, obviously, when using bluetooth). The Yamaha has a slightly cleaner sound, especially in the upper frequencies. The Parrot has a much stronger bass (very good for it's size).
It's interesting, and I noticed it in other reviews, that the Parrot actually sounds better (and louder) when using bluetooth versus the line-in.
The bottom line is that you should get this if you want a small, portable set of speakers with bluetooth capability. No, the sound isn't fantastic, but it's probably as good as you can get (for now) with bluetooth speakers this size, and certainly good enough more most casual listening situations. If you're going to primarily leave it in one place, I'd probably recommend something a little bigger. Parrot, Sony, Altec-Lansing, and Samsung (soon) all have bluetooth-capable models that probably sound better and bigger, but are less portable.
Update: I compared it to the Altec Lansing inMotion Soundblade as well and the Parrot sounds slightly better. It has a more full sound and slightly better bass. Both distort in the upper frequencies, but the Parrot less so. The Soundblade has more features, though, and can play louder.

BEST LITTLE SPEAKER, February 9, 2008
THIS IS THE BEST LITTLE SPEAKER SYSTEM I HAVE COME ACROSS YET.
TESTED SPEAKERS FROM RADIO SHACK,SEARS, AND THEN THE LOCAL STORE HAD THIS GREAT UNIT.
SOUND IS STRONG AND FILLING THE ROOM TO A LEVEL SURPRICING FOR SUCH A SMALL UNIT,ENOUGH FOR A SMALL PARTY.BEST IS THE BASE SUPPORT AND THE SURROUND SOUND OPTION.
COMPARED TO THE BOSE WAVE SYSTEM IT HOLDS AT LEAST THE SAME VOLUME LEVELS,BASE IS ONLY MINIMALLY REDUCED.
THEN AGAIN THE PRICE DIFFERENCE AND PORTABILITY EASILY MAKE UP FOR THE ONLY SLIGHTLY DIMINISHED SOUND QUALITY.
IT IS VERY PORTABLE AND LIGHT ENOUGH TO BE THROWN INTO MY TOTE.
BATTERIE POWER IS AT LEAST 4 HOURS,JUST AS STATED IN THE MANUAL.
NONE OF THE REVIEWS I HAVE READ MADE ANY REFERENCE TO THIS VERY PORTABLE,EASY TO USE,AND ABSOLUTELY GREAT SOUNDING UNIT.
SOME PEOLPE WILL CONSIDER NO REMOTE CONTROL AND NO SOUND DOCK AS A DRAW BACK,THEN AGAIN IT ALLOWS TO USE THE SPEAKER WITH ANY COMPUTER,CD PLAYER, AND ANY M3 DEVICE WHICH HAS A HEADSET CONNECTOR.
FOR ONLY ABOUT $30 MORE AND YOU CAN ENJOY THIS POWERFUL UNIT VS A CHEAP AND THIN SOUNDING SPEAKER SYSTEM.
IT IS WORTH IT.Parrot Party Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speakers (PR555)
