The Parrot Tico Tango,

This review is from: The Parrot Tico Tango (Hardcover)
My 6 year old son is obsessed with this book. We originally took it out from the library. He insisted reading it every night until he could memorize it. He loved it so much we bought it for his birthday. He loves the rythm of the book, all the fruit and colors. He can read it on his own now and wants to take it to school to share with his class. It is also available in Spanish - I think I'd like to read that version as well.

Cute book, nice rhyming, good moral lesson (don't take other people's stuff), overall a nice addition to my daughter's bookshelf. My daughter chants along by the time we reach the end.

Our three-year old loves this book and so do we. The text is engaging and the beautiful illustrations compliment it perfectly. We love the end, which leaves children with a good message and motivates for further activity afterward (dancing). Someone should write a song to follow the story. And yes, The Parrot Tico Tango is a proof that the best books don't have to be the most expensive ones.

I'm originally from Costa Rica and long ago was looking for a good book for my daughter that will have some of the Costa Rican flavor. Well, we found a fun story that rimes and is fun for her to read and dance at the end. Love it and definetely must have. We now give it at every birthday party. It has become our little Costa Rican treasure.

After taking this book out of the library regularly my son asked that we buy it as a donation for his school library. We all love this colorful tale of a greedy bird and the life lesson that he learns!Plus it is a fun read!

I was recently asked to bring a book for the upcoming lesson of the week (visiting families countries) at my daughter's preschool (3yr olds).
I'm from Costa Rica, so I decided to get this book & it has a HUGE hit with the children, they loved the story, the colorful pictures & enjoy dancing tango with the music. I ended up donating the book to the class & ordering another one for my daughter. |
