A highly unusual setting, the jungles of Peru, makes this one considerably different from standard teen series romances. The romance consists of a boyfriend back home in Key West, a single mom falling for a fellow jungle adventurer, and Jenny fighting the battle of the sexes with the young Amazon guide, Orlando. Jenny manages to keep herself busy with volleyball, with discouraging the flirtatious Orlando, and with foiling a monkey-kidnapping scheme. Leisurely pacing, authentic atmosphere, and a level-headed heroine make this more pleasant and interesting than most.
