These chairs are so much better than they appear in the photo. They are quality pieces of furniture. I was not sure about the quality when I ordered them being the price is so low, but upon receipt, they are great chairs. The quality surpasses the chairs I looked at when I was at Ikea. The material is quality and the chairs are upholstered correctly. The cherry wood legs are solid and have a great finish on them. The assembly was easy, everything was labeled and enclosed. We have been very happy with our purchase and could not have gotten a better deal!

Looks as good as high-end versions,

We bought a set of 6 for our glass-top cappuccino dining table (purchased through Macy's) as a cheaper alternative than buying the Parsons chairs from Macy's as they were $200/chair for the fabric version of $400/chair for the leather version. Buying this here saved us quite a bit.
After a lot of looking around for this style chair, this was definitely the best bang for the buck. Most places, even Target, would have these at $99/chair. I was able to get it here for roughly $560 all-in (chairs and shipping). I received the set of 3 boxes (2 chairs/box) within 4 days. The boxes are 40 lbs each. Very light considering the size of the box. Even with my recently operated on ankle, I was able to carry the boxes up two flights of stairs with no problem (I am 5'10", 200 lb male). The first thing you will notice when opening the box is a chemical smell. I'm not necessarily sure what it is, but it's neither too pleasant or too pungent - airing out the room definitely helped. Each chair is made up of 3 pieces: the backing w/ two legs already attached, the seat cushion, and two separate legs you must attach. The "leather" material feels pretty decent, smooth yet not too plastic feeling; it definitely has some texture to it, which gives it a pretty sturdy feeling as well. The most obvious part that reveals the chairs' "cheapness" is the bottom of the seat cushion. You can see that the frame of the cushion is made of cheap wood (almost like a thick balsa wood) that's been coated with some sort of dark sealing chemical (perhaps that's the smell). You'll notice that the leather material is relatively thin but I don't think it will break without aggressive coaxing. All the materials are stapled into the wood and some of the staples sticking out (but nothing crazy). Luckily, this is the bottom of the chair and the only time you'll see it is when you're assembling them. Which brings me to my next point. Assembly is pretty easy. It took me less than 10 mins/chair. There are 10 screws/chair and one wooden dowel. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT using the supplied allen wrench. Use one that has a handle or one that is part of an allen key set (the ones that look like a swiss army knife). It will make twisting the screws into the wood much easier and faster. I thought I would run into issues with screwing them into the cheap wood, but no splitting or splintering occurred. It's pretty flexible wood and can take quite a bit of pressure. That being said, don't apply too much pressure with the screws. The best thing to do is loosely screw them in by hand and then finish them off evenly with the allen wrench. All in all, a great buy for a chair that looks much more than it is. It is also very comfortable and cozy. Highly recommended for those on a budget.

Parson Chair,

The company shipped the chairs within three days. The chairs were packaged two per box and needed simple assembly. One of the boxes contained no front replacement legs and a minor flaw in one of the backs. Contacted the company and they sent two new chairs instead of just replacing the missing or damaged items. The customer service was excellent. The chairs are a value for the price. They do however need some airing out as there is an odor to them.

We were considering similar chairs from a box store for about the same price when we stumbled upon these on the net and decided to order. We couldn't be happier with our choice. There is a bit of "new vinyl" odor when unpackaged, but it dissipates quickly. The chairs went together easily and fairly quickly(10-15 minutes per chair)and are a nice size, very comfortable, and feel rock solid. They are far superior to the chairs we had been looking at. To top it off, our dining room looks updated and our table (which is solid, but getting on in years) will NOT have to be replaced.

I read all of the previous reviews about the chairs before I made the decision to buy them. I was looking for a nice looking set of chairs that did not cost alot of money. And every review said they were easy to put together. That was not the experience I had. I ordered 6 chairs, 2 per box and each box was missing some of the hardware, which was not that big of a deal since there is a home depot nearby. Then I started to put the chairs together and I have put together alot of furniture lately (mostly from IKEA) being a new home owner and this was by far, the hardest things I have ever had to assemble, and made me appreciate IKEA alot more because of how easy their items are to put together. I almost gave up but after much frustration, blisters, scrapped knuckles and some swearing, I got the chairs together. There were two of us working on the chairs. Maybe it was just the three boxes that were sent to me, but am curious if there was no one else out there who thought there chairs were hard to assemble? They were a royal pain in the butt!

I love my purchase. These chairs are actually prettier than in the picture. We replaced our dining chairs about six months ago. We've enjoyed them and haven't had any complaints about them as of yet. Our friends who have visited and used them commented they were very comfortable and stylish. We found they were easy to put together as well. I'm very glad that I made the purchase and even more pleased that I'm still happy with that decision after six months of usuage.

The Weeble Wobble Chairs,

The chair set is priced right. It did seem like a good deal. But, upon receiving of the chairs (two came about 1 week after ordering them, other 4 came about 2 days later), I began to assemble them. I didn't get the funny odor upon opening the boxes like some other reviewers have stated, but the biggest issues I found were that the legs on the chairs are different lengths. After putting one together, the chair would wobble pretty good. The chairs come with hokey feet adjusters, that are already coming off at random. I've only had the chairs for about 4 weeks. I tried to level the chairs by adjusting the feet levelers, but some of the legs had a pretty significant difference in leg length. I tried swapping different legs to get a good match of overall length, and that helped a bit. Another interesting thing I found strange was the chairs come with a wooden or composite dowel that is supposed to bond or connect the seat portion of the chair to the backrest portion. The dowel was about a pencil's thickness, but the pre drilled holes on the back and seat were the diameter of a magic marker, making the dowel completely ineffective. I found this to be the case on 4 of the 6 chairs. The fabric and padding seems to be okay at this time, but as I said, I've only had the set for about a month.I bought these as a temporary item, as we are going to be getting a whole new tableset in the future, so as I stated in the beginning, your getting just about what you would expect for about fifty bucks a chair. I am going to get some alternative feet adjusters at Home Depot as other reviewers have said, and hopefully the chairs will stop rocking and wobbling. If your chairs are going on a carpeted floor, you probably don't have to worry too much about the wobble issue, as ours are on a tile floor. One other point. The ad says the chairs' fabric is brown in color. It is brown, but it is a very dark brown, almost black shade.Under dim lights, they would appear to be black, not brown. Not a big deal, but was a little surprised at the color.

The leather is cheap and cracks over time.,

I've owned these chairs for 4 years now - I bought 8 of them for $250/chair. I was initially impressed with their look and comfort. However, the quality of "leather" used is horrible. The seat leather will crack over time and those cracks begin to separate exposing the filling material beneath. Don't waste your money on this chair from this manufacturer.

surprisingly impressed. I wasn't expecting the chairs to be as nice as they were for the price. I've only put 4 together so far but it was pretty easy. Took me about 15 minutes per chair which is good because I'm not very handy. They shipped pretty fast and I didn't notice too strong of an odor.
