I really wish Amazon.com had song clips up, so folks who've not heard Kurt could hear his amazing voice and songwriting talent. His second album "Part of Me" is more acoustic, a bit more mellow than his rock-infused debut "I", but this latest effort is such a work of art, so beautiful to listen to, that it has now become my fave record of Kurt's. Stunning guitar work, great emotional depth to his lyrics and his delivery of songs like faves "My Street", "Part of Me", and the hauntingly beautiful "For You", a simple yet powerful ballad that is 100% Kurt.

This is the perfect album for getting mellow, for sipping tea or wine on a winter's day, looking out your window at falling snow. Kurt Nilsen's "Part of Me" is in constant rotation in my home. It is definitely my favorite album of the year, without a doubt...and I wish I could give it 6 stars or more. Please Amazon.com, get some song clips up on your site so your customers can discover Kurt Nilsen!

I was really taken by Kurt during the televised World Idol competition on TV and pursued his first CD very persistently until I was finally able to get it (it wasn't available in the US for a long time). I really liked it a lot. But I love this album. The first one was excellent pop music. This one is personal. Listening to the mournful words and delicate, sad melodies, I had a feeling something had gone wrong in Kurt's personal life to generate these tunes. On his website, a note near the bottom states that Kurt's relationship of 11 years with the mother of his two children didn't make it through his rise to world notice. He has turned his personal grief into beautiful, moving music that continues to pull me; I listen to this album just about every day and I am not the kind of person that usually does that. I just keep wanting to hear these lovely songs one more time. And Kurt's voice...well, if you're bothering to read this far, maybe you, too, are already a fan of his incredible voice. He has a unique tone that just kills me and he knows how to use it; he is so expressive and seems in total control of the effects he's creating with his voice. I just love him. Can't say enough good things about this album.

This is a great album. I liked Kurt's first CD but this is very, very good. I think Kurt's found his element. His voice is in great form and he sounds extremely comfortable singing his songs. Recommended buy.

Nilsen has a voice that is so clear and soaring it is hard to stop listening. That he is also such a gifted songwriter is amazing. This CD is even better than his debut "I" which I thought he'd never be able to top. Flawless and delightful. I can't wait for him to tour the US!

With this outstanding second album Kurt shows us what a talented songwriter he is. He has written the songs himself and with THAT voice this is just beautiful from the first song "Singing the song" and all the way through to "No excuse". If you like Kurt's first album, you will love this one. "On the road" is so beautiful, already a classic in my opinion. I highly recommend this one. Dont even think twice. This is pure delight.

As many other reviewers, I'm enjoying this album better than the first. Kurt's voice is excellent on both albums, but this time around we find a singer-songwriter putting his heart into it. Every song here is written or co-written by Nilsen, a bit less radio-friendly album, but with more depth than the first, these songs just seems more true to who Kurt is (at least from what I can gather about him). The production is often stripped down this results in a better, albeit less commercially successful album.

Kurt is an amazing songwriter/singer! The lyrics are beautifully written, very sentimental. His voice is equally amazing.

Way to go Kurt! I highly recommend this CD

HOT! HOT! HOT! This album is full of original, hypnotic melodies! Kurt just doesn't skip a beat! A definite must-have for all Kurt Nilsen fans. Kurt has truly bared his musical soul for all the world to see. We love you Kurt!!!

I just received this cd, and instantly it has become my favorite. There isn't a bad song on it. I loved the fact that you did not have to "get used" to any of the songs before you liked them.

Great CD, I highly recommend it. Good job Kurt!

I have bee his fan since he won the Norwegian Idol and I must say that he is really transforming into a much better artist---not just as a singer but as a songwriter.

I really love this album and the songs in it. Of course, Kurt's voice is very soothing to the ear and makes you crave for more....

I especially liked the song "No Excuse" ("....can you forget about it and move on") and "A Part of Me" ("...a part of me is left home..it's never ever coming back..") .

To the one who is going to buy this CD...you will never regret it because it worth listening for!
