Ne-Yo, despite what anyone else believes, has been quite consistent for the past two years with his singles from Year of the Gentleman. First it was Closer, which was OK but not the greatest start single. However, it was different than any other contemporary R&B song at the time. Then there was Miss Independent, which came stronger. Mad followed with its infectious chorus, and finally we have Part Of The List, which is just so smooth.

The first time I heard it, it was on a music channel on TV (Music Choice) that plays non-stop music without the video. I don't think I was initially impressed. But it grew on me immensely and now I must say that if it's not playing on radio (which I don't listen to much, thank God), it should be!

It's so suave. Ne-Yo is so sensitive. That's what I love about him. He's not afraid to be vulnerable as he croons his way through a track.

Shaffer talks about a lover that used to be sweet in a relationship, but the sentiments are now long gone and he's reminiscing on all the great, *little* things that used to please him and make him happy. "The way your sweet smell lingers when you leave a room..." and "Touching your face, invading your space".

I don't have it yet, but maybe I will have to pick this album up - I've heard the other two (one I own and the other I bought, and shortly thereafter, I gave to my mother - she loves him too!) and think it will make a great addition to my 'Just under 100' collection of music CDs.

end note: Do yourself a favor and download a track or two by Jazmine Sullivan, who also came out with an R&B CD in 2008. Her best tracks on that album are FEAR & LIVE A LIE.
