A superb book for anyone interested in polymer composites, November 1, 1999

This review is from: Particulate-Filled Polymer Composites (Polymer Science and Technology Series) (Hardcover)
For several years, I have been performing research on polymer composites. As a part of that work, it has been essential to look at the scientific literature, including papers and books. The topic of polymer composites is complicated and this book provides an invaluable guide through the various aspects of mineral-filled composites. Some of the chapters include:
Principal types of particulate fillers
Analytical techniques for characterizing filler surfaces
Surface modification and surface modifiers
Effects of particulate fillers on flame-retardant properties of composites
and several others.
The most impressive aspect of the book is that it provides a very readable, structured view of the subject from contributors who are some of the very best in their respective fields. The level is suitable for researchers and for industrial readers alike.
In short, one of my favorite reference books.
