New Age + Celtic,
By
This review is from: Parting Glass (Audio CD)
In a soothing, intimate tone, Emer Kenny pours the song like syrup over the listener. There's a slight breathiness or husky tone to the voice that creates the feeling she is singing just to you or crooning a lover to sleep.
Some categorize it as New Age, but there's celtic here as well with several traditional songs sung in gaelic. "She Moved Through the Fair" gets a hypnotic, gypsy style treatment. I'll be looking for more of her CDs.

Sensual take on Celtic music,

I love Emer Kenny's tone and subtle style. She has a unique blend of many musical qualities which I keep listening to and hearing new things each time. Her melodies are comforting and haunting at the same time. I must be under her spell. She has quickly become one of my favorite artists, and I put her on again and again!

Emer Kenny,

Emer Kenny is an Irish balladeer in the more traditional sense, but with a modern(or contemporary)beat to her music. She sings traditional Irish lyrics with all the pathos they involve and more modern songs with the upbeat lyrics they have. All in all a good album.
