This country dance video is for couples that are new to the country dance scene. It really will not serve an intermediate or advanced dancer well. Willy and his partner teach the basic steps involved in the Texas 2 Step and the Triple 2 Step (enough to get a beginner onto the country dance floor) then proceed to teach a few common pattern dances. They move through each dance rather quickly, it's up to the viewer to review the portions they are interested in at their own leisure. Even if you learn one new pattern dance from this video, it's worth having in your library.

I bought Partner Dancing Volumes 1 and 2 since I was particularly interested in both the two-step and the waltz which are on separate tapes. I would recommend the two-pack that includes both volumes for any beginners. Just a few plays of the tape and some spins around the living room and we were able to enjoy the dance floor instead of watching from the sidelines. Hicks knows his audience and teaches you in a practical, simple way, knowing that you can hit rewind anytime and practice to your favorite songs later.

Wiley Hicks delves into man's deepest crevices of thought and makes a masterpiece in the process. I cried at several points of the film, especially when they danced.
