Good Until the Last Drop (or shall I say page),
By Dynah Taylor "Dynah Taylor" (Decatur, IL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Partner (Penguin Readers, Level 5) (Paperback)
I checked out this book from the library because I'm trying to read all of John Grisham's book and unless I see one at a garage sale, I don't have an extra $20 for a book when I need gas...Anyways, I loved the book and could never put it down. I forced myself to stop at 2AM. Even though Patrick's tricks and easy manuevering may be unrealistic to everyone, everyone likes to read something like this. It's a book. Something to take you on far away adventures that you or people you know would never begin to go on. I love how Grisham can make you feel as if you are right there hearing the characters and hopping on airplanes or looking behind your shoulder to see who is following you. The closest people can get to that in real life is knowing some local loser drug dealer who should be watching his back.
Sorry to say though, the ending was a bit nerve racking. I flipped through the last few pages of the book when i was finished to find an explanation of why Eva never shower up. Is someone still wanting the money who was mentioned? I just hope Mr. Grisham does not do any more endings like this. UNLESS, he has a sequel to this already long book or have an explanation on his website. |
