This review is from: Grab a Partner! Twelve Terrific Partner Songs for Young Singers (Teacher's Handbook & CD) (Paperback)
I have used this collection of partner songs for a variety of children's choirs with much success. Each piece has simple choreography (mostly hand motions)and the songs are fun - singers LOVE these! Partner songs are a great way to introduce part singing and provide a "safe" environment for those who are a bit timid. The CD, however, is a mixed bag. There are two tracks for each song, one with just piano accompaniment and one with voices. The piano track is fantastic and very useful for rehearsals, but the voice track has mature singers with heavy vibrato that is not a good example for young singers. Wish there could have been a children's choir used for the voice track! This is the reason I gave the book/CD set four stars. |
