I was just as wowed by season 2 as I was with season one. This is a consistently good show. The writing is great. The acting is superb. The storylines deliver. If you like gritty crime dramas and you have not seen this series, you are in for a treat. If you have seen this series it is worth viewing again.

As the second season got underway it's clear that Acevedo and Vic will continue a tense forced marriage that has Acevedo capitalizing on the apparent effectiveness of the strike force while simultaneously bad-mouthing their tactics. Acevedo shows himself to be every bit as ruthless in his pursuit of political office as Vic is in controlling his operations - official and otherwise. The writing and acting on this series is first-rate as you find yourself rooting for Vic despite his actions a la Tony Soprano..

This is a very nuanced and interesting program. There are no good criminals but among the detectives and the policemen and their bosses ambition, competition at best and downright crookedness rules each case. The twist is the really evil cop with a "good" heart and the decent captain who will bend the truth for political goals.Never fails to entertain and surprise.

Season Two has the Barn fleshed out. All characters are in their spots and seem to know what their functions and jobs are supposed to be. Dutch begins to show his skills as a detective and profiler. Aceveda eyes a seat on the city council. Vic's home life starts unraveling and a drug dealer has got the Strike Team on edge. Ronnie gets burned - badly.
