Excellent CD. I'm host a Blues radio show and when this release was in current rotation I played the heck out of it. Of course, I've never been disappointed by Johnnie Bassett and this release is no exception. Solid electric Blues.

There's never a dull moment with Johnny Bassett. His repertoire is at once old school, risquee and delightful. Johnny's voice is surprisingly good for a man who has probably spent much of his life in smoky bars. When he sings, I hear a bright blend of Leon Thomas and Mac Rebennack. He's a master at guitar improvisations and can steer himself expertly out of any ditch. This is a fun, feel-good CD.

I have had this cd for a few years, I still listen to it quite a bit. There is some great singing and guitar playing here. I also like his song selection this is overall well worth having. He has four cd's out so far, to me the best of them all is called (I Gave My Life To The Blues). If you can find this one grab it. I think his weakest album is called (Bassett Hound), I would stay away from this one. Also (Cadillac Blues) is worth a listen.
