A must read for any girl who loves shoes, going to parties, Neiman Marcus or the city of Atlanta!
This was my first Stephanie Bond novel and I am looking forward to reading more. She combined page turning fun until the last word.

This book had a little of everything in it. From humor to a great mystery, and an "edge of your seat" suspense. The characters were well drawn out, leaving no voids in your imagination. I enjoyed every minute of it! I look forward to reading more from Ms. Bond.

A Letdown,
By A Customer
This review is from: Party Crashers (Mass Market Paperback)
I quickly picked up this book when I saw it was another Stephanie Bond. I have really enjoyed her books in the past. In this book, however, I was never on board with the romance piece. It seemed rushed and poorly formed. Hope the next book is better.

fine mixing of humor and love within in a crime thriller,
This review is from: Party Crashers (Mass Market Paperback)
Realtor Jolie Goodman quit her job over her new boss demanding she do an unethical act in order to make a sale. Jolie temporarily sells shoes at the Nieman Marcus in Atlanta's Lenox Mall. There she meets Beck Underwood of Underwood Broadcasting, who needs socks and shoes having just returned from Central America. The duo is attracted to one another, but nothing comes of it not jus because she is working, but police Detective Salyers arrives to question Jolie about her missing boyfriend Gary Hagan, whose car was found in the Chattahoochee with a dead woman inside. The police suspect that Jolie abetted Gary in his escape though she denies involvement. As Detective Salyers searches for Gary, he quietly warns Jolie to watch herself as he is in danger and she might be. Meanwhile she runs into Beck at an event that she crashes and soon they begin to fall in love. However, after Gary, she has doubts about her taste in men besides which she is in danger from people who believe she has something of Gary's that they want at any cost. Though the police procedural-Gary subplot in many ways takes center stage and the conspiracy behind all this is overdone, the contemporary romance between Jolie and Beck is well written and cleverly interwoven with the case. The support cast adds depth especially those co-workers like the ultra-tall long necked professional party crasher who mentors the heroine in the arts of attending celebrity events for free. Fans will appreciate this mixing of humor and love within in a crime thriller while attending an advanced class in Party Crashing 301. Harriet Klausner

I liked it,
This review is from: Party Crashers (Mass Market Paperback)
This is a fun, light-hearted mystery/romance. No graphic sex, no graphic violence. The best part of the book is the mystery. The setting is fun: Neiman Marcus and exclusive Atlanta parties that our heroine "crashes" with some new friends. The side characters are, well, real characters. One dresses in goth and dates married men; the other dresses in fancy clothes that she buys, then returns to Neimans, and has a brother who's in debt to loan sharks, Our heroine, Jolie, just started working in the shoe department at Neimans and ends up being accused of murder.
Jolie is a stereotypical romance heroine: poor, orphaned, a bit shy, smart, hardworking, not blatantly beautiful, but cleans up well. Improbably, a rich and handsome man falls for her and becomes her knight-in-shining armour. OK, the romance is the weakest part of the book. But it has a guaranteed happy ending. The writing is good. The mystery is well-developed. The characters - especially the side characters - are really interesting. In fact, the side characters, Carlotta and Hannah, become the main characters in Stephanie Bond's Body Movers series. If you're looking for a well-written romance or light-hearted mystery, this is a good one. It's a great vacation read. After you're done with it, check out the Body Mover's series to see what Carlotta and Hannah are up to next.

What a fun and fast read! I love Stephanie Bond! I wish the romance was a bit amped up but I'll take what I can get! It is mystery with a lot of humor mixed in. And the Body Movers series is based on the character of Carlotta. So pay attention to her if you plan on reading Bond's Body Movers.
