good for what it is, but series isn't really changing with the times...,

This review is from: Party Groove: Blue Ball 5 (Audio CD)
If you still love this circuit stuff (I've always been a fan myself), you'll find some goodies here, and plenty of vocal. But, overall, this kind of club music hasn't changed in about the past ten years, and as a result, individual tracks are a lot less memorable than they used to be. There aren't many standout gems here, but overall, it's a good background disc for a summer party. Tracks times and descriptions:1. Jukebox (7:05) (male vocal-sounds horribly dated. Like something from the mid-90s. Even samples Barbara Tucker's "I Get Lifted (Bar dub)") 2. Take me Away (6:46) (sort of a gospel/disco/electro hybrid. Something catchy about this track. Good female vocals) 3. All I Gave to You (5:02) (Your standard slammin peak hour diva anthem. Too bad it only lasts 5 minutes) 4. Shake (4:02) (Terminal Beat...the artist's name says it all. After a great vocal anthem, the momentum dies with this boring tribal instrumental) 5. discosound (5:25) (a remix of Earth Wind & Fire's "Boogie Wonderland"-sorta pointless) 6. Let's get happy (5:37) (Almost a carbon copy of That Kid Chris's take on "Native Love"-with different lyrics) 7. in your soul (5:37) (hard instrumental with a breezy spoken line-this is a hot track) 8. breath (5:52) (a faster, driving track with great female vocal and an awesome, repetitive piano riff) 9. you know how to love me (8:03) (the longest track on here. A circuit diva vocals-yet, not quiet a power anthem) 10. take a good look (5:37) (another okay vocal track-but this, as well as many of the other tracks on this disc, are demonstrating that aging circuit sound) 11. waiting (6:31) (incredibly catchy, commercial dance track with female vocals. This is becoming a big dance radio hit) 12. some kind of heaven (6:33) (a light and airy finish to the disc, with inspirational female vocals. Kinda hokey, but fun.)
