5.0 out of 5 stars Please God, take me now...
I bought this for my daughter. She's eight. If I hear this song one more time there is a good chance I will explode. I find myself praying for death whenever it starts. By the time she gets to that whole "I put my hands up they're playing my song the butterflies fly away AAAAUUUGGGHHH!!!" I start looking for a bus to jump in front of, but wouldn't you know it, there...

3.0 out of 5 stars Heavily Autotuned
Although this song is clearly heavily autotuned and may have been electronically shifted up a half or even a whole step (yes, you can do this, and she sounds like T-Payne on those high notes), it's a fun song and I give props to the songwriter.

By the time she gets to that whole "I put my hands up they're playing my song the butterflies fly away AAAAUUUGGGHHH!!!" I start looking for a bus to jump in front of, but wouldn't you know it, there are no routes on my street. I have a gun and could just end it all that way but, you know, the whole mess in the house and all, and my wife is busy with school and cleaning up would be a bummer for her. Same with pills - I don't want to go out with a big flurry of barf and convulsions, although there's a chance I may go that way anyway if this freaking song starts one more freaking time...

You know, if there was a way to do it and take Billy Ray with me I'd do it in a heartbeat - serves him right for inflicting this little monster on us. You got that Billy Ray? It's your fault, man. All on you. YOU!

WAIT! Drowning! I could do that, I think. Can't hear the music under the water, either. Hmm...

Oh, my daughter loves the song, BTW. Says it's the coolest ever. Said I had to give it five stars, so there's that.

I wonder if she'll miss me?

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, fun, FUN! 4 stars., March 19, 2010

I'm not your typical Miley Cyrus fan. In fact, I don't even like 5 of her songs.

But Party In The USA puts a spin on pop while it flirts with a thumping, bass beat. It's catchy, likeable and I don't see why it gets all the hate that it does. It's a good, disposable pop song and should be treated as a guilty pleasure.

Just because Miley sings it, it catches flack.

I'm glad I'm not in THAT crowd!

4 stars or 8/10.

end note: I always thought this disc was just sold at Wal-Mart and Wal-Mart only. But I guess at least the single made it's way to amazon. I've been trying to rate this forever!

5.0 out of 5 stars Miley's only 46-year-old fan, December 3, 2011
This review is from: Party In The U.S.A. (MP3 Download)
My daughter lights up when this song comes on in the car, and I do, too. It's about arrival and the surge of confidence you feel when you realize you can push through anxiety and do something. I have only the fragmented, song-by-song view of youth pop these days since I'm no longer young, but this song seems universal. That's why I love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm tired of the hate..., November 28, 2010

I'm tired of people hating on Miley's music, show, & entire career simply because they don't like her. It's sad that people won't even give her work a chance because this girl is super talented. This song is amazing. It's totally radio-friendly & the lyrics & melody are so infectious. It's a wonderful song with a good message, therefore I think it truly does deserve 5 stars.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Such A Party, January 4, 2010
This review is from: Party In The U.S.A. (MP3 Download)
When it has came down to Miley Cyrus, she honestly hasn't been as driven as being so much of a tween act. With her latest single, Party In The U.S.A., from her Time Of Our Lives EP, isn't really a interesting song. She honestly has been a bit overdone with her music. Sadly, I wasn't very thrilled with the song after awhile. It has recently gotten very tiring after awhile. While Miley may have grown herself out of her Hannah Montana role, unfortunately after The Climb, she hasn't fully grown up musically. Hopefully, with her next full-length record or song that comes out, Miley can prove to have a much more driven song. This Party In The U.S.A. has gotten to be a bit overdone for me.

Song: D+
