5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite 32 Jazz Compiliation, September 8, 2000

If you love the B3 organ, and uptempo bop, this is a CD for you. The CD can be summed up by two words, rhythm and pace. Every cut is fantastic and keeps the entertaining frenetic pace going

5.0 out of 5 stars MORE BAR-B-Q JAZZ AT IT'S BEST!!!, March 15, 2009

This review is from: Party Jazz (Audio CD)
97% of this was recorded at the legendary Van Gelder Recording Studios between 1977 to 1995, so there's no need to tell you how great the sound is (if you want more proof ask some die-hard jazz fans or jazz collectors). EVERY CUT is a greasy experience to your ears and hips! Includes some of the SAME Hammond B-3 Masters like: Richard 'Groove' Holmes, Jack McDuff, and Charles Earland...Wait!!!, more Guest Artists (This time I'm not telling). Killer Tracks: Willis Jackson "Bar Wars", Grant Green "High Heeled Sneekers", Jack McDuff "Cap'n Jack", and Houston Person (With a little help from Charles Brown) "Late Night Lullaby". Yes! there are Sidemen (Sidekicks)...Again I'm not telling...By now you should be making plan to buy this.

Now understand this...THIS TOO IS PRETTY MUCH AN OVERALL HAMMOND B-3 ORGAN PROJECT!!! This is the music you'd hear at somebody's Bar-B-Q Party, as in Beef, Chicken, Pork and Hot Dogs, along with Beer and Hard Liquor, Oh!, and let's not forget the Dominoes and Card Games...Kickin' the dog, and chasin' the kids! For an Extra Dose of Greasy Delights you might want to add the companion Compact Disc that was released 2 (Two) years before in 1997 entitled "B-3in' Organ Jazz"...Then all you'll need to do is have a Backyard Bar-B-Q Party :)
