It could surely only be the work of some moustache twirling super villain that combines the, er, talents, of Nelly and Fergie, two of music's most easily loathsome individuals. Sort of like Freddy vs Jason set to music, only this time you want both parties to die.

Nelly, then; this time trying to convince us he's hardcore and dangerous, that is, y'know, when he's not singing love songs with Kelly Rowland or, well, singing worse love songs with that notorious gangsta Tim McGraw, (in a song so nauseating and vile even The Curmudgeon couldn't stomach reviewing it).

And then there's Fergie, striving again for relevance in a music scene that is stacked with better female popstars and far, far better singers, in the only way she knows how; using her increasingly plastic looking "beauty" and singing in that stupid, beyond fake, "don't I sound black?" accent.

It's a recipe for guaranteed failure, especially when the music is as over-produced and stodgy as this. Here's something to think about, guys; Prince wrote Kiss in 1986, using a tight drum beat and a guitar and made it impossible not to dance to. The Neptunes made a career out of minimalistic beats; hell, they got a hit out of Snoop Dogg making popping noises with his mouth, so throwing everything into the mix in an effort to sound "edgy" makes what's supposed to be a rousing dancefloor stomper into something criminally DULL.

And the video is the same old story. Nelly is in "street" mode, so he has his shirt off, and Fergie pouts at the camera in the mistaken belief people actually give a damn. The irritating chorus repeatedly demands "where my p-p-p-party people at?" when we all know those party people are all somewhere else where, oops, "their phone was on silent."

Where tragedy exists though, so too does unintentional comedy. There's a girl at the end of the video wearing a t-shirt saying "Hip-Hop ain't dead." In a video with Nelly and Fergie. There's nothing I can possibly say to top that.
