5.0 out of 5 stars I Loved Icicle Works So...
...Naturally I wanted more. With songs like LITTLE GIRL LOST & OUT OF SEASON I sought the solo works of Ian McNabb who was the lead singer for Icicle Works, and at present I have only listened to this CD twice and am HOOKED. It is mostly acoustic with McNabb crooning over his Guitar, but the depth of all the songs' content makes you stop and bend your ear. I always...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Your Usual McNabb
Fans of Ian McNabb will be surprised at this effort, but also very pleased. The CD is almost completely acoustic and has none of the edge and pop riffs McNabb has on other solo works. 3.0 out of 5 stars Not Your Usual McNabb, June 20, 2000

Fans of Ian McNabb will be surprised at this effort, but also very pleased. The CD is almost completely acoustic and has none of the edge and pop riffs McNabb has on other solo works. The only remnants from his Icicle Works days on this CD is McNabb's familiar voice. The lyrics are pure McNabb, however; tongue firmly in cheek. The music is very mellow. Slip your cardigan on and pour a tall glass of brandy. True McNabbheads will love this one, though. It's just not what you would expect.

Those looking for a continuation of Icicle Works might be better off skipping this one and buying his other solo CD's like Merseybeast and Head Like A Rock. Both are awesome with plenty of great songs you will want to play loud.

I always enjoyed someone who could belt out a song and actually sings instead of relying on studio tricks to fill out an otherwise mediocre performance, and here I was very satisfied. A definate highlight of the album is the opening song SEX WITH SOMEONE YOU LOVE & also A GUY LIKE ME (AND A GIRL LIKE YOU). Buy it, you won't be dissapointed.
