5.0 out of 5 stars Only for the courageous
Buy Party of Twelve only if: 1) you are courageous enough to question deeply-held personal perspectives 2) willing to consider that concepts like 'peace', 'love' and 'compassion' are first nouns, then become verbs 3) desire a deep personal healing and a healing in others. I've found that Party of Twelve was eerily timely given the New York City and Washington D.C. events...

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money
Barbara With's husband states he doesn't belive his wife is canneling Hitler at one point in the book. Amen. She was not channeling anyone in my opinion.
Seems like Ms. With has jumped on the band wagon with the hopes of fooling we gullible book buyers and in the process earning herself a few bucks. This book went into the trash can after I skimmed though it for 15...

Buy Party of Twelve only if: 1) you are courageous enough to question deeply-held personal perspectives 2) willing to consider that concepts like 'peace', 'love' and 'compassion' are first nouns, then become verbs 3) desire a deep personal healing and a healing in others. I've found that Party of Twelve was eerily timely given the New York City and Washington D.C. events - Anwar Sadat and Jesus of Nazareth are interviewed in the book. With such a seemingly diverse group of people,(John F. Kennedy, Einstein, Ryan White among others...) it was important to suspend judgement until all comments were read. Indeed, there is a connection between them and us that is stronger, richer and more profound than what might be imagined...

This is an amazing book! Whether it is all true or not I don't know, but it feels true to me. I especially love the section on Jesus of Nazareth and his message that we are here to be Pure Compassion in human form. How can that not be true. The section on Hitler and forgiveness I found very profound. The section on Marilyn Monroe about the Kennedy assasination is very interesting and could be true.

5.0 out of 5 stars joining the party, January 16, 2011

I thought this book was absolutely fascinating. The author says, right up front, you can believe what she wrote as being real, or you can enjoy it as an inventive work of fiction. Either way, it is entertaining. It is also a book about hope and possibilities. The interviews with Hitler and Jesus gave a perspective that I had never considered before. Hitler was the absolute worst embodiment of humanity, so we could hopefully learn not to follow that path again. Jesus was the embodiment of humanity's full potential, and it is supposedly within our reach. Without the darkness, can we recognize the light? The viewpoints of he other interviews invite the reader to look at things from a different angle. Very well written. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
