The book gives a complete history of the New Jersey & New York Railroad. The most impressive part of this book are the many rare photos of the line, especially the long abandoned portions on the north end.

Excellent construction & passenger service history!,

Really enjoyed the contents of this book, which included construction of the line and a good overview of passenger service, basically through the steam years. Track diagrams of different towns/junctions were very informative as well as lots of great pictures. Text was very readable. I'd love to see a Volume 2, with more information about freight traffic on the line and about the diesel years.
